Hello All,
We are building an application that will dynamically choose and pre-pend
short underwriting messages to the audio streamed over the web. We will use
SMIL files. We need to decide if the short underwriting messages are better
off stored in a the database (BLOB field?) or in a physical file with the
references stored in the database. How can we load the audio from a
physical file to the database? Is it a good idea to store...

Hi,
How do i listen for windows messages in c# on
compact.net? I have a window containing an instantiation
of the HTML viewer control, which is a child of the main
form. As the compact implementation of the form class
does not have a wndproc function to override, i cannot
get the messages. I cannot use a message window, as the
window i am listening to will then not display.
Is there another method of doing this?

Is there anyway to hold the base.WndProc(ref m) until after the Logout()
function finishes loading a webpage??
I'm working on shutting down an app that runs in the system tray, I have no
problems shutting down, but I have problems saving data first.
if the base.WndProc(ref m) is placed at the top, it closes, but the system
does not continue to shutdown and it does not save the data via the Logout()
funtion.
If the base.WndProc(ref m)...

I've spent the last 3 years programming VC++, and learnt that Windows
programming is all about messages.
Now I'm doing C#, and there isn't a windows message to be seen! Now, I don't
miss those messages at all - in fact I'm very glad to see the end of them,
but I am puzzled as to where they've gone. Has .Net got rid of windows
messages, or are they just hidden inside the CLR, where windows windows (to
use the VC++ term for the real...

Okay I'm trying to write an application to monitor a running process. Right
now I have a front end which allows the user to pick the programs they want
to monitor. The interval between how often I information for this process,
things like CPU usage, peak memory, virtual memory, etc... All this I get
from System.Diagnostics.Process. I display this information in a listview and
things are working fine. The user can then select one of these...

Hi, hope I'm posting to the right forum.
I'm using C# under .NET 1.1, Windows XP SP2
I have a form and I've overridden WndProc to print to a text box whenever it
receives the WM_NCMOUSELEAVE message. Under "Windows XP Style", I get these
messages fine (when the mouse moves off the title bar or form borders).
Under "Windows Classic Style", I don't get the message at all!
Has anyone seen this?

Dear all,
I have created a large Python-based GUI project and I'd like to use it
as a GUI interface for real time audio sequencing (using the
SuperCollider -SC- synthesis server).
Python (the client) and SC (the server) can communicate via OSC
protocol (there are available implementations). SC will generate events
responding to Python messages.
In order to have sequencing I have to send at precise timing messages

I'm an ASP.NET newbie. I'm trying to write an audio-recording code in an ASP.Net page. I created a windows User Control that has the buttons and codes for this (it calls the winmm.dll in system32 and passes commands to it for the recording)
It works in a windows form. However, I keep getting the following error message when I click the Record button in an ASP.net page:
See the end of this message for details on invoking

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
