You can use the System.Console class to do this

System.Console. WriteLine("Writ e Something");
System.Console. Read();

I'm affraid that aboved code do nothing in Windows form application...

I think that only firing of console application can give
you "real" console input and output. So you can fire it
from a form application.

While writing a windows service, I've run into a fairly strange problem. I have a worker proc that gets fired every n seconds using System.Threading.Timer. This works fine, unless I open an SqlConnection on it. Just as soon as I do so, the proc fires that time, and never again. The connection is valid, I can do SQL commands on in with no problems, but my timer goes away. Here's a fairly simple console sample that shows the problem....

Hi, can I detect whether my class is running within the context of a Console application, vs say a WinForm's application ? also does anyone know whether the compiler or runtime is smart enough to avoid the overhead of writing to the console if it is not visible, eg I am running inside a WinForm application. thanks

I have a MDI form, sometimes child forms and sometimes forms that are neither If I close the app the child forms closing and closed event happens followed by the Mdi form receiving the events.. But the regular forms that are also open do not receive that event. This is true whether there are child forms open or not.

Hi All I have a server based C# console application. This application must hide its console window when its launched out on the field. So I dutifully P/Invoke'd FindWindow/ShowWindow combination to hide the console window at launch time. The application (for legacy reasons) hangs around by waiting on an old- fashioned Console.ReadLine() statement.

Using C#, .NET3.5, Visual Studio 2008 and WCF on Windows VISTA SP1, I have written a service, service host (as a C# console application) and a client. The service uses Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel.Application to access an Excel file on the local hard drive, opens it (using Application.Workbooks.Open), reads out some data and the provides said data to the client. Everything works perfectly when the Service Host is a C# console...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
