Application Doesnt Get BUILD

This is one appicaiton that I was working on yesterday, and then it was
working fine. Today I had got a new functional update to be done. I
made a new private function and it was to be called from another
button_click handler function. After I made those changes I build the
project. The build was 'SUCCESSFUL'. But the update didnt get reflected
in the WEB APPLICATION. This function was supposed to make an update in
the database. The code used here was a reusable one and hence I had
only copied it from another class file in the same project. The same
code there is working fine.

Another STRANGE thing I noticed is that ... when i try to debug thru
this function call in the button_handler I am not able to debug through
this call, rather the debugger is skipping this line of code. I must
mention that there are no conditional statements surrounding his
functional call. ALL i can make out of this STRANGE behaviour is that
the NEW CODE IS NOT GETTING BUILD. Trust me on this there are no coding
mess I could have made.
I tried a REBUILD > no success, I did build & rebuild the entire
solution, still the debugger skips this function call & goes on to
execute the statements after this function call.
