In the calendar's DayRender event add something like this:

Private Sub cal_DayRender(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As
System.Web.UI.WebControls.DayRenderEventArgs) Handles cal.DayRender
If someCondition Then e.Cell.BackColor = someColor
End Sub
