Datalist selection

hi, my project is on vb - asp.net

I have a datalist with 100 records, so when I select my item and when the
itemtemplate appear... i dont know why, but i return on the top of the
page...
and when i return to my selectitem... its select like i want...

Finally, my problem is only the scroll after the selection.

SmartNavigation was the feature that was supposed to rememdy this, but it
was buggy and worked only in IE.

Auto-scrolling is not builtin; here's a custom solution:
