Secure System Design Question

Hi, I have little experience developing secure systems outside of
Intranets with integrated Windows authentication and where I was tha
admin. granting, denying access.

I want to do this on the Internet, where I have no control over the
box, based upon a login. Don't want any other users getting other
users' information.

I know this is vague, but am hoping someone will understand where I am
coming from.

Are there any links that might show me how to start the design of this?
Not asking you how to program. Know how to do that. Just outside the
box now. Not sure what to Google for. Using ASP.NET, C#, and so on.

Thanks.

You might want to review this article and especially the section

Authentication using Windows accounts
