Hi, I'm planning to develop a small intranet to provide our organization with documents online. I've decided to do this using jsp/servlets using a tomcat server. For an operating system, I have chosen red hat linux. However, I'd like to keep a small database on a sql server as a datasource. However, this sql server is already part of our organization's windows domain. I suspect I'll need to configure samba so that other terminals...

This may be a bit OT, although is such a thing exists, there is probably a way to connect an access form... I have a relatively small amount of data that I want to put up on the Internet in a relational database. It has to be read/write. I don't want to have to go to a new host to do this because its just a small project, and my current host hasn't been able to get anything up and running.

Hello I work on a website where we have 3 servers running one site so we use the SQLServer option for state management. We are using the persistent ASPState database. All 3 of our webservers are Win2K3 and up-to-date. Our SQL Server is up-to-date as well. We have been getting weird site-hanging issues lately which seem to be related to the state management. Whenever the site starts hanging we will receive an application error with a...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
