Greetings!
I've searched groups.google.com already to see if I can determine if
using PHP/MySQL (if needed) for a web site I wish to develop. As the
subject indicated, it will be a content based site with videos - NO,
it's not a porn site though.
I thought that I'd list the key requirements/specifications for my web
site below and was...

hello,
im working on my first public-facing ASP.NET 2 website, and i have a
question/concern about authentication integration.
in ASP.NET 1.1, one would typically go w/ a "role yer own"
webforms/database role-based model: in your db youd have a Users table,
a RoleGroups table, a UserRoles table (see...

Sorry for cross post, forgot to include aspnet in orinal...
Thanks in advance for any assistance.
I'm in the process of implementing custom RoleProvider & Membership Provider
objects and have run into a snag with the Membership Provider.
It seems many of the MembershipUser properties are read-only. This seems,
well stupid, IMO.

Hello All,
How to change the default Membership Provider during the runtime?
I know I can reference any provider I want, e.g.: provider =
Membership.Providers
but the question is how to change the default one, so all those new, cool
controls can start using the one I want.
I can specify the provider for each of those controls, e.g.:

I have serveral applications now running that are using the
MembershipProvider classes and they are each using their own security tables
in SQL Server 2005 instead of the express databases - they are all work
well.

use a single security database because they all...

Hello,
We use an access database for the membership administration of thousands of musicians. Membership status varies from "active" to "suspended" to "expelled".
Musicians go in and out of active membership. The database keeps track of the last time a member was suspended and the last time a member was expelled. Unfortunately, like...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it. ...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then...

I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.

I succeeded, with both firewalls in...
