Hi all,
As metacharaters ^ and $ are not used in regular expression in XML,
I'm looking for how to specify empty string.
Would anyone please help?
Thanks a lot.

I need to split a string based on a character, such as a space (0x20).
The caveat is that I need to ignore the character if it is found
between a pair of some other characters, such as single-quotes. For
example (where _ denotes a space character):
ab_cd_'ef'_'g_h'_i_'j_k_l'
I should get back
ab
cd
ef
g_h

I would like to get some help on regular expression to validate
decimal numbers. It should also match negative value, empty value.
The expression:
^(\-){0,1}({1}{0,8}(\,{3})*(\.{0,8})?|{1}{0,}(\.{0,8})?|0(\.{0,8})?|(\.{1,8})?)$
is doing this job, but matches a single hyphen "-" also.
For example: matches -12.34 but also matches -
I need help to have this expression modified to unmatch single hyphen

I am using the Regular Expression Validator control to validate a
correct email address. But, at the same time I would like to make it a
required field.
I tested by using just the regular expression validator expecting a
message to be displayed but it let me submit the form. Do I have to use
both?

I'm experimenting with Regular Expressions and Windows Forms.
Frequently I want a value to be either a valid pattern or empty. For
example a Zip code must be 5 digits or may be empty. I know that I can use
the Regular Expression "\d{5}" to test for exactly 5 digits. How can I add
the option for the string to be empty or must I always test the value before
calling the Regular Expression?
Thanks

I have a process where I do some minimal reformating on a TAB delimited
document to prepare for DTS load. This process has been running fine, but I
recently made a change. I have a Full Text index on one column, and
punctuation in the column was causing some problems down the line. This
column is used only for full text indexing, and otherwise ignored. I decided
to use the following regular expression to remove all punctuation (actually...

Is it possible for a regular expression to macth only an empty string? What
I want is exactly {0}, but that causes the parser to throw an exception -
parsing "{0}" - Quantifier {x,y} following nothing.
Duh, I want nothing. Maybe I need an expression that evaluates to "not
anything?" I can't find that either.

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
