Depending on what you mean by "Save option", that functionality is really controlled by the browser.
The best you can do is to not set the content-disposition header in the response and hope that the browser has a PDF reader plugin installed, then it will just show up in the page.
If you are refering to the "save" button in the PDF viewer(like adobe acrobat), I am not positive but I think if you create the PDF with special security settings it will disable that button.

I want to display plain text files in the browser. The files contain html and javascript and have a .txt extension. This works fine with files with just html. Unfortunately when showing files with javascript, I get an "error on page" warning and the page is not displayed. I suppose that when Internet Explorer discovers a <script> tag he starts to interpret it. This is not what I want. After all Internet Explorer is a browser and not an...

I'm trying to find the best way to allow web visitors to download text files (.txt, .wri & .zap file extensions). I'm having some luck. I say some because the open/save box opens with IE but not Netscape. On Netscape rather than give the user the save option it simply displays the file. I also see problems on the mac platform - no save box - it displays the file as in netscape. Is there a universally accepted way of doing this sort of...

Should you be able to map a any file extension to the ASP.NET dll and have it execute ASP.NET script, just like an .aspx page, when it is requested by a browser. If not, why bother giving us the ability to create application mappings. I have an .aspx page that calls an SAP function which returns an actual PDF to my calling .aspx. My .aspx then returns that PDF result to the browser. When a browser requests that .aspx page, if I try...

Hello, I have a requirement wherein, a user clicks on a file name in an ASP.NET web application, and the file should automatically be downloaded (Without showing the "Open", "Save As") in the local machine at a pre defined path (path defined in the registry), and launch the file in its associated application. I think this can be done through ActiveX Controls, but i dont know how to create ActiveX controls in .NET??

There must be a way. I'm making a selection from a drop-down list that had an ID number as the value and displays a text field. After submitting the data to the database I am sending an email and would like to include the value displayed in the DD box, not the hidden value. How so I reference that displayed value? <select name="select"> <option value="1">Blue</option> <option value="2">Red</option> <option value="3">Green</option>

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
