Hi everyone,
I was wondering if it is possible, to use SQL to return more than one table
at a time into a dataset. I only know the basics of SQL and so I'm not sure
if I'm just asking a stupid question. But, I'm not proud! :-)
I'm using Ado.net and I'm wanting to load a DataSet object with several
independent tables. (For those who arent ADO.net programmers, a DataSet can
hold multiple tables and the relationships and contraints...

I have a stored procedure that queries a sql server database and returns the
multiple data tables ( 7 to be precise) these tables are the results of many
joins.
When I use the System.Data.SqlClient namespace objects to access this data
it is returned intoa dataset, this dataset has the tables as expected but
they are name 'Table', 'Table1' , 'Table2' etc....
How can I ge the table name to be more friendly as in "Customers", "Rates"...

Hi,
I have an app that uses a typed dataset to persist user data. The dataset
has a multiple tables with multiple table relations. The problem I am
running into is that the user data is dynamic and is not predictable at
design time. What I mean by this is the forms that user inputs data is not
static - it changes dynamically at runtime based on user input. This makes
it difficult to persist the data in a dataset with multiple...

I have a dataset with multiple data tables. I need to bind this to a wizard
interface, where each portion of the wizard udates the information in one of
the datatables. I am using formviews in each screen of the wizard since this
seems to be the only way to databind anything in ASP.Net 2.0. I could not
set the datasource to go against the dataset directly, since the methods to
populate the dataset are in the dataadapter objects, and...

I understand that I can fill a datagrid with multiple queries, but I cannot
figure out how to fill a dataset with the same query but run against
multiple SQL servers, the query , table structure and username, password etc
will be exactly the same for each server, the only thing that will change is
the server name. Idealy I would like to get the server names from a seperate
dataset so there could be any number of servers, allthough in...

Hi,
This seems to be a neglected bit of info as everyone gets carried away
with data binding examples instead.
Can simply use the datareader as below:
Private Sub PopulateControls1()
Dim sSql As String
Dim cn As SqlConnection

Have a complex process where I need to Import a large amount of data
then run some transformations on this data then import into DataBase.
The transformation involves multiple fields and multiple process - so the
data needs to be read in 1 record at a time then run thru the transformation
that may create new data value then everything is imported into a db to store.
I have multiple questions
1)we used to have an internal data structure...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
