Hi,
I have a problem with Integrated Windows Authentication on one server (Win
Server 2003 SP2 IIS 6.0 ASP.Net 1.4). Let's say I want to disable anonymous
connections to an admin directory, I usualy go in IIS, in the folder's
properties and in the directory security tab. Then, I edit Authentication and
Access control. I uncheck "allow anonymous connection" and I only keep the
"Integrated Windows Authentication" box checked.
When this is working, I go to the admin page and I got a prompt asking for
username and passowrd. I login with any windows user having the "Users" group
rights.
But this time, this is not working on one server. On firefox, it keeps
asking me for the login. I even tried the administrator password and it
didn't work either. I get this error:
HTTP Error 401.1 - Unauthorized: Access is denied due to invalid
credentials. Internet Information Services (IIS)
On internet explorer, it seems to be logged, but I can't access any page.
If I check back "allow anonymous connection", it works again.
So I've done the same thing I did on others servers but this is not working.
I shut down the firewall and even tried to give "full control" to the
"everyone" user. Didn't work either.
Any idea what can cause this?
Thanks

I got it to work... I just deleted the website and recreated it. I don't know
why it wasn't working though.

Hi
It is possible that IIS and SQL Server can reside on
Seperate Machines and you can use Integrated Windows
Authentication to connect.

In my web.config file I've specified Windows for the authentication, in IIS
I've set it to Integrated Authentication.
But my SQL connection is still showing Anonymous.
Is there somewhere else I need to check?
Thanks

We have an IIS 6 web server on W2003 Server that connects to a SQL Server 2K
(Sp3) running on W2003 Server. It connects using Delegation. Delegation
is enabled in Active Directory. The two servers are on the same switch.
There is one scenario where this connection works, and one where it doesn't.
Working: Using Basic Authentication - user has to log in again even if they
are on the domain.
Not Working: Using Integrated Windows...

Hey all,
I would like to preface my question by stating I am still learning ASP.net
and while I am confident in the basics and foundation, the more advanced
stuff is still a challenge. Ok. :)

Hello,
Since it is the first time I'm posting in these groups, I believe a
(short) introduction of myself would not be a bad thing.
I am mainly a support engineer, not a programmer. I do have some
experience with Java and LAMP (Linux/Apache/MySQL/PHP) but don't
consider me one of those boring OS advocates please. ;-)
I also have done a little bit with Visual Basic (and GwBasic in a long
forgotten past) and nowadays my job involves...

Now I have a web application, a web service and a SQL Server database.
The Web application will invoke the web service, the web service
invokes the SQL Server stored procedure.
I let the web service run in an application pool which runs under a

connection to database is trusted connection. All these work well.
The web application will be used in internet (not...

I've been having a problem debugging an ASP.NET 1.1 application on an
existing Windows XP/Visual Studio 2003 workstation that I've inherited
from somebody else. The application builds fine, but when I try to
debug, it gives me the message: Error When Trying to Run Project:

integrated Windows authentication is not enabled.
Now, the obvious solution for this of course...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
