DynamicTemplate with Delete btn inside a GridView

Hi!
I need to add a delete button in a column for my GridView. It has to
be done in the codebehind.
Here's my code so far:

Protected WithEvents roleList As New GridView

'create templatefield column for role

Dim roleNameColumn As New TemplateField()
roleNameColumn. HeaderTemplate = New
DynamicTemplate (ListItemType.H eader, "Roles")
roleNameColumn. ItemTemplate = New
DynamicTemplate (ListItemType.I tem, "Role", False)

'add columns to the gridview

roleList.Column s.Add(roleNameC olumn)
I need to do something similar for my linkbutton and wire it up to
something like this in the codebehind:

Protected Sub roleList_RowDel eting(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As
System.Web.UI.W ebControls.Grid ViewDeleteEvent Args) Handles
RoleList.RowDel eting

End Sub

Any Suggestions? :) :)

I'm reposting this. I'm kinda in a bind untill i get this figured out, so if anyone has some input it would sure help me out. Ok, I’ve noticed a few gridview problems floating around the forum. Everyone wants to do a java confirmation box when a user clicks the delete button. Fair enough, basic user design rules state that you should always confirm a delete action. There is also a consensus that the best way to do this is a template...

Hello, Does anyone have an idea on how I can filter the data in the gridview control that was returned by an sql query? I have a gridview that works fine when I populate it with data. Now I want to look at that data and filter it based on what is in it. I know that this could have been done with data sets and data views in asp.net 1.1 but how is this done now in asp.net 2.0?

The delete itself works but the extra logic which requires parameters AccountDebitID and AccountCreditID does not work. I believe it is something really easy, but I cannot see it. The stored procedue works when run in QA. Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong/missing that is keeping the delete command from working in the gridview? Thank you. I am trying to delete a row out of...

It seems that a gridview allows us to delete only a single row at a time. How to extend this functionality to select multiple rows and delete all of the selected rows in a single stroke? just like what hotmail web UI is doing now (having the option of selecting multiple rows (using the checkbox provided) and perform a set of operations on them)

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
