Direct Uploading on Silverlight Streaming Service

I want to upload a file direct to the Silverlight Streaming Service from a
Web Client such as silverlight application.

As per our product requirement we want to upload a .WMV file directly from
silverlight client to Silverlight streaming service. I tried to user
WebClient and HttpWebRequest for that purpose but, unfortunately I can found
the way to do so. There are some problems with both classes.

1. There is no property of get credentials in both classes
2. They are not supporting the http web method "PUT" to upload file on
silverlight streaming service.

Due to problems define above; we are unable to develop a silverlight client
that directly uploads .wmv videos to the Silverlight streaming service.

Is any possibility to upload a video file directly from silverlight client
to silverlight streaming service, or any other way to fullfill this
requirment.

Hi Faisal,

As you said, due to the limitation in Silverilght 2 Beta 2 we can not do
this directly in Silverlight. A workaround is to use an intermediate web
service. We can upload the video to our server and send the video to
Silverlight Streaming site from our server.

If you have further questions I suggest you ask them in the Silverlight
forum because currently there's no dedicated managed newsgroup for
Silverlight.

Dear all have a msdn subsciption and was wondering if I can post a Silverlight question here. I was wondering if Silverlight gives webcam support like flash does this. With this, it is possible to make conferencing solutions. As far as I read in ohter posts Silverlight 2 is not able to do this unless you use a McGyver style (http://jonas.follesoe.no/PermaLink,guid,7f8857dc-5f37-4a8a-bd35-fd4b624af45b.aspx).

Hi Everyone, I have written a silverlight application, which talks to a WCF service, which was created within the website after watching this video: http://silverlight.net/learn/learnvideo.aspx?video=47177 The service gathers some data using a class library. This all works fine within Visual Studio, but when published to a web server it throws an excpetion, in the first xxxxServiceComplete call back, which

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
