I am new at trying to authenticate users against LDAP. I am getting the error
"Unable to establish secure connection with the server" with my current code.
Here's what I have thus far.

<add name="MyADMembe rshipProvider"
type="System.We b.Security.Acti veDirectoryMemb ershipProvider, System.Web,
Version=2.0.0.0 ,
Culture=neutral , PublicKeyToken= b03f5f7f11d50a3 a"
connectionStrin gName="ADConnec tionString"
connectionUsern ame="cn=finmed, ou=roles,dc=hut ty,dc=com"
connectionPassw ord="password" />
This is the information that directory services provided to me.

Name= Value
LDAP Username (Simple Bind)= cn=finmed,ou=ro les,dc=hutty,dc =com
LDAP URL= ldaps://ldap-r.hutty.com:636
LDAP Searchbase= ou=people,dc=hu tty,dc=com
UserID Attribute Name= uid
Simple or Anonymous Bind?= Simple
Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Hello. I have an asp.net application that resides on a non-DC / BDC Sharepoint Server (although it is logged into the domain). The application will perform lookups based on the current user (integrated auth) to an LDAP server which requires no login (AuthenticationTypes.None). When I run it, I get the following ambiguous error: Security Exception Description: The application attempted to perform an operation not allowed

I have DB2 V8.2 loaded on a Redhat Enterprise Linux version 3 (RHEL 3) box. RHEL is configured to talk to LDAP for authenticaton besides the local passwd file. I can verify this by executing an su to a User Id that exists in LDAP and not in the local /etc/passwd file. Also verified that the connection to LDAP is working by ssh into the box. The problem I have is when I try to connect to a local DB2 Database using a User Id and Password...

Greetings, My ldap application relies on user input for a ldap server uri, so I am looking for a way to use the ldap api to determine whether the ldap server is up or not. All the docs have to say is this: initialize(uri) Opens a new connection with an LDAP server, and return an LDAP object (see 1.1.4) used to perform operations on that server. Parameter uri has to be a valid LDAP URL. server = "ldap://666.222.111.333"

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
