When .NET loads an app.config at runtime (myapp.exe.config), will it
honor an entity declaration? Based on what I am seeing, the answer is
no, but I think, or hope, that I am doing something wrong.
I tried this:
// myapp.exe.config
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
<!DOCTYPE configuration >

Hello.
I have a very strange problem on my system with running C#
applications from a longer than usual (>127 chars) path. I was able to
reproduce the following 2 cases:
1. Socket s = new Socket(AddressFamily.InterNetwork,
SocketType.Stream, ProtocolType.Tcp); // <-- crashes here #1
2. SqlConnection con = new SqlConnection("Persist...

I'm about to begin a brand new, big, ASP.NET project (using 3.5 .net fw), VS
2008. I'm using MySQL as the backend (customer request.) I have absolutely
no experience with LINQ and/or the Entity Framework. Though I am quite
comfortable with ADO.NET and VB.NET.
In your opinion, should I take a few days and learn it and utilize these...

I am really struggling to create an entity which maps to 2 "base"
entities. I have a customer and invoice entity which are based in
tables in a one to many relationship. I have tried:
1. Creating a Invoice Entity based on the Invoice and adding a mapping
to both tables: I can't validate the model it says "Two entities with
different keys...

Hi,
I have an Entity data model built in Entity Framework, which sources data
primarily from an MS SQL 2008 database, and sources some static (data
dictionary) values from code-based objects. I know I *could* store the data
dict values in SQL: for various reasons that's not the path I want to take.
I have some lookups, which are based on...

Hi.
My solution (working in VS 2008) has a C# console app, and a C# web service. The service has an entity data model. It has numerous stored procedures. For one of the stored procs, which just returns data (SELECT blah blah FROM...), I added a function import called "Iservice." I saved all, then in my console app, updated the service reference...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it. ...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...

I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in...
