Simple Blog for ASP.Net

I used WordPress for a prior blog, but now have my website on ASP.Net 2.0
using MS SQL Server. I'd like to actually have an equivalent blog (easy to
set up, easy to add entries to for the family).

Does anyone have recommendations on an equivalent package that they like?

Thanks.

For family/friends usage, I was impressed by Blogo.Net :

http://s3maphor3.org/blogo.net/

It's simple to use, hassle-free, and quite robust.

I wrote the localization to the spanish language, available here :

Nothing will really compare to WordPress in .net land at least on the
open-source/free level.

If you have a few bucks, GrafittiCMS is quite nice for blogging (it's really
a blog engine):

http://graffiticms.com/

(now that I mention that, scratch that...they DO have a free version for
non-commercial use. Give it a try!)

Graffiti is more a content management system, but does incredibly well
in the blogging department because of its underlying design.

It might be a bit overkill for a just a simple blog, but you don't have
to use all the features. Set up a blog and some content publishers, get
posting. Ridiculously easy to get up and running.

Ofcourse you could go all out and get Community Server, which is
probably the king of .Net social networking products right now, but
thats without a doubt total overkill =)

Hello,

Even if your blog is hosted on a MS server, that shouldn't stop you
from using Wordpress, cause most .net hosts also have PHP installed on
the server. Are you sure PHP is not installed on your server?

I use Wordpress on my .Net server, and it works out very well.

Cheers!

Thanks everyone for their recommendations ! I'll look at both blogo.net and
Graffiti (Community Server looks to be quite extensive, you're right. :) ).

As for Wordpress, I am limited to SQL Server, and as I understand it,
Wordpress requires mySql instead.

Thanks everyone!

I'm looking to quickly get a photo album online. Very simple, thumbnails, a few pages, maybe a description, but hopefully a small script that's easy to edit and work into my existing site. I know about hot scripts, etc. but I was wondering if any one could recommend one? Secondly, I also want to setup a journal. It's not really a "blog" although I guess blog software may work. But it isn't going to be a message board or anything like...

I've been searching high and low for a way to simply convert a small XML configuration file to Python data structures. I came across gnosis XML tools, but need a built-in option for doing something similar. My knowledge of DOM and anything beyond simple XML structures is rudimentary at best. Is there a simple way to use SAX handlers to pull attributes and elements into Python lists/dictionaries?

I use Visual C++.NET 2003. I've been reading an older book on C++. One program example shows how to make a simple window and draw a rectangle inside it. At the beginning, they include the statement: #include "rect.h" to include the corresponding library. But when I build, the compiler doesn't recognize "rect.h" as a library. What is the problem?

I am looking for a simple php blog to modify. I been have looking around at different open source blogs like Wordpress but that are too complicated for my needs. Basically I just want posts, comments, users and tags. If supported multiple blogs that would great but I can add that. Really the simplier the better. Any suggestions? Thanks, Ted

Has anyone used nAnt script to simply copy folders and files from one location to another? I have a colleague who is suggesting this use of nAnt for our environment. I've heard of nAnt for .NET project build purposes, and know that it can be scripted to copy folders and files, but have not heard of it being used for non-buiild tasks, like simple file copies or moves.

I am from classic asp and learning asp.net. In the past, once I have a recordset retrieved, I can use it wheneve and wherever I want. For example, I know my recordset contains something like rs("firstname"), I can do <%=rs("firstname")%anywhere in the web page. How do we achieve it in asp.net? Sorry for the simple question, but please help.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
