Are you up to speed on the difficulties in using the 1.1 .Net framework?
Not if you are unaware of the 1,596 issues listed at KBAlertz
(http://www.kbalertz.com/technology_3.aspx).
If you are going to use .Net......I highly recommend signing up for the free
KBAlertz newsletter at http://www.kbalertz.com/default.aspx.
Looking at all of the errors and quirks sometimes makes me wonder if this
thing is really ready for prime time.

This works:
db2 SELECT DISTINCT PROBLEM_OBJECTS.PROBLEM_ID FROM PROBLEM_OBJECTS
INNER JOIN PROBLEMS ON PROBLEM_OBJECTS.PROBLEM_ID =
PROBLEMS.PROBLEM_ID WHERE INTEGER(DAYS(CURRENT DATE) -
DAYS(PROBLEMS.CLOSE_DATE)) = 365 AND PROBLEMS.CLOSE_DATE IS NOT NULL
But this doesn't:
db2 SELECT DISTINCT PROBLEM_OBJECTS.PROBLEM_ID FROM PROBLEM_OBJECTS

We just recently moved one of our major c# apps from VS Net 2002 to VS Net

appear.
So far ...

If the db_value was not included in the ComboBox value list the
ComboBox.SelectedIndex used to return -1, Now the very same code is

Hi
Is it possible to modify the ControlState from the client side using
javascript? From the server side you can use SaveControlState, but I
need to do it from the client side because I'm not performing a
postback. Thanks.

Tonight's episode of me beating my head bloody against the monitor was the result of ViewState/ControlState information not being
available when CreateChildControls() gets called for a CompositeControl.
So, my question is, >>why<< isn't ViewState/ControlState available before CreateChildControls() gets called by the Framework? Is it
just me, or does it seem really counterintuitive to be creating child controls on postback without the...

Hi folks,
we have a scenario whereby we're not too worried about cpu cycles on
the server, and much more worried about users with slow up-stream
connections to the server. Our goal is to...
1) Keep ViewState on.
2) Put ViewState in Session.
3) Compress the control state that gets sent to browser even when view
state is in session (since control state is always sent to the
browser).

I am reading MSDN doc about Control's ViewState and ControlState. I got
myself quite puzzled. I see that the Control class has four virtual
functions:
LoadControlState
LoadViewState
SaveControlState
SaveViewState
But a Control has only ViewState property but no ControlState.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
