I have looked over most of the FSW questions in the forum and this one seems
like a unique twist. Here it is.
In a nutshell, when a .NET service is running on my machine (XP), the fsw
file created event fires just fine and everything processes correctly. When
we move the same service to a W2K server box (server is running SP4 - I saw
the other post on this), the fsw file created event does not fire when we
create a file in the same...

Hi,
I am using Assembly.LoadFrom within a web service to load assemblies from a
web site. This web site is in the same machine where I am running the web
service.
The Assembly.LoadFrom(httpsite) method throws a file not found exception.
I used the same code within a windows based application on the same machine
and it worked, so if the windows based application can load the assembly why
can't the web service find the same? I have been...

I have a strange problem with a website and a web service.
They're both on the same server, running Windows server 2003. The website is
set up as the default website for the server.
I've got the same code running in several different environments, it just so
happens this is the production server we're having problems with. Not ideal,
typically.
What happens is this.

Hello,
I want to be able to load an assembly by selecting a dll from an OpenFileDialog.
This seems to work, exept when that assembly references "3rd-Party dll's".
Just this simple line:
Dim myAssembly As = .LoadFile(FileName)
throws the following exception:

The problem:
I want to have a (.NET 2.0) smart-client talking to an (IIS, ASP.NET 2.0)
web-server to consume web-services. The authentication on the web-service is
bespoke (I mention this just for completeness; essentially, the web-service
is running (in configuration terms, at least) as anonymous - which is *not*
to say that the methods can be called arbitrarily!).
Anyway... (back to the point): the web-service needs to call down to...

Hi,
I've generated a client proxy and web service stub using WSDL.exe.
All appears ok. The client proxy .cs is in the client app running in VS2005
and the web service stub is running in another instance of VS2005. Both
projects build and when debugging, brealpoints are hit.
When the client app is using instantiated client proxy objects, the response
object sent to web service 'arrives' empty. When the request object is sent

I'm a bit puzzled by the current recommendation not to send Datasets or
Datatables between application tiers.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/306134
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms996381.aspx
Formerly, with classic Microsoft DNA architecture, the ADO Recordset was a
primary transport medium, recommended for transmitting data between
application tiers. In fact, there are whole books written on the subject.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
