Hi...

Unfortunately, Visual Studio 2008 doesn't allow .net 1.1 projects. To the
best of my knowing, official support for .net 1.1 in Visual Studio 2008 and
up is discontinued. The lowest it will go is .net 2.0

...Oh, no...
Then how can I install VS2003 after I've already installed VS2008 on
my computer? I've tried, but the setup program always tell me that the
runtime can not be installed. What's the problem?

Thanks for your discussion and answer!

I don't know a lot about .net 1.1 or Visual Studio 2003 since I came on to
the .net thing in .net 2.0. My guess is that you would need to uninstall all
references to Visual Studio 2008 and anything over .net 2.0 and then install
..net 1.1. I do get that right? You can't install .net 1.1 either?

If you dont work under vista that should be no problem.
If you use vista i recommend a virtual image with XP and VSTO 2003 .

Can I use python23_d and python23 to develop an extension for a commercial application uses python22.dll? (Providing that I do not use any new features found only in 2.3.) I would bulld version 2.2 but I am having trouble doing this with Visual Studio .NET Standard. (There is a well documented problem with version 2.2 (involving largeint.h) and VS.NET but none of the solutions that I found have worked.) On the other hand, I have...

I have a MSDN Subscription expiring this month but really need Visual Studio 2008 when it comes out. I called customer service to find out but they don't know. They seemed to think it was a possibility but couldn't say for sure. Does anyone know if Visual Studio 2008 will come with the MSDN subscription or would it be better to let the subscription expire and buy Visual Studio 2008 when it comes out? Seems like the type of question that...

I'm running XP Pro/SP2 + patches and updates, with Visual Studio Professional 2008 (and no prior installation of Visual Studio ever installed). When attempting to open an ASP.NET Web application project, Visual Studio shuts down immediately and with no error message. I can open Visual Studio - but when subsequently attempting to open the project, Visual Studio immediately shuts down. More specifically:

Hello, We have a program we are building with Visual Studio 2005 for x86. In the past we used Visual Studio 6, and there was no problem. With Visual Studio 2005, if we build the executable normally, all is well. If we build it for debugging, then at program startup we get a popup saying This application has failed to start because MSVCP80.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

1. Why does Visual Studio 2008 started ignoring //{NO_DEPENDENCIES} in resource.h? If I edit file "resource.h" _manually_, it rebuilds the whole solution. It worked just fine with Visual Studio 2005. 2. Why does Visual Studio 2008 not allow having two resource files (that use the same "resoure.h") open at the same time, when they are in different projects of the same solution (localization resource-only dll projects?) It worked just fine...

I am getting a Visual studio 2008 IDE application R6034 runtime error. This means that the IDE application is raising the error not the application I am building. This means that Microsoft did not follow its own advice as listed in http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms235560(VS.80).aspx and "build with a manifest". The DLL in question seems to be msvcr8.0.dll which is the VS2005 C runtime DLL. I am not sure why this is an issue in a...

But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
