In the respective application root's web.config add a unique setting for the
authentication name property:
<authenticati on mode="Forms">
<forms
name="MyApplica tion.ASPXAUTH"
path="/"
loginUrl="~/Login.aspx"
... etc.

Jeff,
Configure the authentication section in your web.config file to use a unique
name for the authentication cookie. The virtual directory name/alias is a
good choice.
<forms name="VirtualDi rectoryAlias" ... />

I've successfully implemented forms authentication in my ASP.NET/VB.NET
project. I use the FormsAuthenticationTicket to create a cookie on the
user's browser when they log on.
My question is: How can I reference this ticket later in the application for
applying security-settings based on the user? I want to prevent some users
from running some of the project's functions. I want to have logic in place
that check's the user's...

to create a FormsAuthenticationTicket to store the group list. I want to
that what is the function of FormsAuthenticationTicket?? is it a must to
create those ticket if I need to get the user's group list??? If I only want
to authenticate the username and password with AD, do I need to create the
FormsAuthenticationTicket???
Million Thanks

I setup FormsAuthentication on a couple websites where it has been working
as expected for a long time. I used this code to setup the same type of
authentication on a new website I am working on and the Cookie Name is not
getting setup the same way.
In my Web.config file, I use the following basic settings on both the old
and new websites:
<authentication mode="Forms">
<forms name="SiteAuth" loginUrl="Logon.aspx" protection="All"

If I did something like that:
FormsAuthenticationTicket ticket = new FormsAuthenticationTicket(ID, false,
20);
then add the ticket encrypting it to the cookie collection, shouldn't the
cookie be deleted
for each new session of the application?
Session isn't equal to start a new debug, leaving opened the browser while
testing?

false, //Don't persist cookie
"test data" //User_SecureID
);
//Hash the cookie for transport

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
