Hello,
It seems to be very complex combination: VS 2008, IIS 7.0, Windows Vista and
ASP.NET Applications. Lots of troubles coming....
Are there any tutorials or blogs which would tell how this combination would
work in
a simple Workstation?
I have had so much problems deploying and running ASP.NET applications in
IIS 7.0.
Cheers, 2 1093
It's a standard configuration.
Did you try just registering asp.net with IIS?
aspnet_regiis -i

Yep, thanks!
aspnet_regiis -i and adding IUSR to database I'm using made it work!
Thanks a lot!

I haven't delved into the beast that is Vista from a programming standpoint
yet. But, if the blog at http://west-wind.com/WebLog/posts/4983.aspx is any
indication of what we're in for.....I say we all refuse to deploy this
monstrosity and make Redmond get it right.
There is NO WAY people are going to go for a system this locked down.
Never....ever........ever!

I've heard rumblings here and there that various versions of Visual
Studio will not run on Vista. I can't find definitive explanation
anywhere of which one will run and which one won't. I am mostly
interested in vs2003 and vs2005. Is it mostly an issue of UAC or not
running as an admin?

Hi there,
I deploy my WPF application with Visual Studio 2008 and ClickOnce. My
application runs with the ;Net 3.0 framework, but during the installation
steps, the .Net 3.5 component is required... Do you know why ? Could VStudio
2008 need this component ?

Anyone using .NET 3.5 in production applications? Is it stable enough?
How about VS 2008? Is it ready to work with. I do not want spent days
troubleshooting VS problems like I happened to do when switched to Vista.
Thanks
George.

Hello,
I have just installed VISTA Enterprise and VS.NET 2008.
When pressing F5 to debug my test ASP.NET website, IE 7 display the message
"Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage".
The local URL that VS.NET 2008 generates is
http://localhost:49705/aaa/Default.aspx.
In IIS7 Manager, ASP.NET V2.0… is "Allowed" in the ISAPI and CGI Restrictions.
Also IIS7 is working and display ASP.NET web sites if I convert them to IIS7...

Ok I am now on my 5th attempt at something which just boggles my mind.
I am just trying to copy a linq query. As soon as I get to the last line
(it has continuation lines) the IDE goes to busy mode, 10 secs later it
quits.
Anybody seen this or have ideas?

Is Tony still out there? The granite site is down or gone and I've
been unable to access usenet for quite some time and am using Google.
Here's my problem. Tony's Auto FE Loader has worked beautifully for
me for the past two years. Unfortunately, we have Vista creeping into
my organization and what I have set up doesn't work. For those of you
familiar with Tony's AutoFELoader, here is the ini file for the
application (TMAD.mde) that...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
