I've defined an ObjectDataSource against a dataset, and I can bind the
ObjectDataSource's members to data controls.
I'm wondering how to take the values in an ObjectDataSource and
programmatically manipulate them before they're bound to any data control.
I'd be using them almost like you'd use recordset fields from Classic ADO.
In other words, I would like to grab the value corresponding to a
publication date from my database, use the...

I am passing the whole object instead or parameters in my select and update
methods.
I can get the updated object if I set UpdateMethod, let ASP.NET autogenerate
an update button, and then press update after making changes, but I don't
want that update button.
How can I get the updated object when the user presses one of my other
action buttons?

I'm having some trouble using the ObjectDataSource in ASP.NET 2.0.
I have a wrapper that contains the static methods for Select and Update. The
Update-method takes the business object as parameter.
When the Update-method is invoked by the ObjectDataSource, the object
referenced is not the same object returned by the Select-method, but a new
object with only the values from the Edit-template. So basically I get a
reference to a useless...

Hi,
I’m having some troubles trying to bind my dataset to a GridView control
through an ObjectDataSource control. The binding works fine for regular
columns in my dataset, but I can’t seem to get my expression columns to show
up in my GridView. Anybody knows any neat tricks to make this work?
Here’s a “step-by-step” to reproduce my worries:
1. Create a new “ASP.NET web site” project

How can I find how many rows are returned from the DataView generated by
FilterExpression on an ObjectDataSource?
I can get the number of rows in the underlying datatable by using:
protected void mydataSource_Selected(object sender,
ObjectDataSourceStatusEventArgs e)
{
numrows = ((DataTable) e.ReturnValue).Rows.Count;
}

Hi,
I have a search page with a textbox, button, gridview and a
objectdatasource. It works great with one problem. When the page loads the
first time the objectdatasource calls the select-method and because its
bound to the textbox (search string) and the textbox is empty it display all
records. This is not the way I wnat it to work - however I want the user to
be able to make a blank search (and return all items).
Can I "disable" the...

I have a pop-up form with a three columned Grid that has checkboxes in
a Template Column in the first/left-most column. (The form is to
allow users to select "Members" of a group, where they check or clear
the boxes next to the potential members they want to add or remove.)
The Object Data Source is as follows...
<asp:ObjectDataSource ID="odsMembers" runat="server"
SelectMethod="GetGroupMembersSelectList"...

I am using the ObjectDataSource to bind to a DropDownList. I have
enabled the cache on the ObjectDataSource since the data it is
selecting will most likely not chage in the near future (countries).
Is there a way to access this cache data on a different page?
I figure if I Already have it cached why should I query the database a
agin for this information if I can just cast the cache object to a
DataTable and query it that way.
Please...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
