I am an asp.net developer and I respect all of your opinions in this
newsgroup.
Any opinions on how good Network Solutions is (support, hosting, speed,
reliability, etc...)?
Thanks! 7 1595
I would use Network Solutions to host my domain name, but not my web site.
Usually the domain registrars like Network Solutions and GoDaddy don't do
the best job at complex hosting. They're used to hosting non-dynamic sites.
There are a lot of complaints in the FrontPage and Expression Web newsgroups
regarding the support from GoDaddy and the lack of knowledge they have with
their hosting systems.
I would tend to recommend someone who is primarily in the business of
hosting instead of a company that is trying to sell add-on services to
domain registration. I've used CrystalTech for a lot of my sites the last
couple years due to their excellent support and price-point. Brinkster has
also offered some very reasonable rates and support for ASP.Net hosting as
well, though I have far less live experience with them.

I totally agree with Mark - on top of that, I'm converting my last 2 domain
names from Network Solutions to Godaddy (although I also wouldn't host
there, expecially with SQL Server), mainly because of the MUCH cheaper
prices

For CrystalTech, how do they handle pointing additional domains to
subfolders in the account? What I would prefer is to purchase 1 account
then point domains to subfolders, like: www.abc.com to /websites/abc www.bcd.com to /websites/bcd www.efg.com to /website/efg
etc
Do they charge extra for each new website?
Plus I would like to have email/webmail for each domain, like mail.abc.com,
mail.bcd.com and mail.efg.com.
I called them but the salesperson was not technical at all and was mostly
confused.

Yes, I currently use them (for the past 3 years). I was just looking for
another solution. Their support has been terrible recently. On hold for 2
1/2 hrs, never gettings to speak to someone and disconnecting me every 20
minutes with no warning. As they grow they seem to get pricier and give
less quality support.

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
