Hello,
Does anyone have an idea on how I can filter the data in the gridview
control that was returned by an sql query?
I have a gridview that works fine when I populate it with data. Now I want
to look at that data and filter it based on what is in it.
I know that this could have been done with data sets and data views in
asp.net 1.1 but how is this done now in asp.net 2.0?

Is there a way to populate a dropdown in a GridView with the next x years?
I am using a GridView to display data from a SQL table One of the fields is
a Year. I want to have the dropdown list not only the year in the db field,
but also the current year to the next x years.

I am new to ASP 2.0 and have been trying to work with the new gridview.
I am running into road blocks as I try to implement quite a simple
functionality. My functionality is as follows
1. There is a grid that manipulates data through two webservices. This
grid has one field that is displayed as a dropdown in Edit mode. The
dropdown box has only two values that can be hardcoded (as opposed to
populating it from the database)....

My Time table has TimeID,Employee,PayPeriod,ChargeCodeID,Hours
My Chargecode table has ChargecodeID,c_Text
I need an Editable datagrid that will show the
TimeID,Employee,PayPeriod,C_Text in a label and hours, along with an
edit linkbutton.
When they click on edit, the edit button turns to Update Cancel
TimeID stays read Only

I have a gridview with a dropdown list in an EditItemTemplate.
I haven't set a width for the columns, so that they dynamically size according to the data displayed.
When it goes into edit mode I want to make the dropdown lists a bit wider to allow for the width of the arrow, and widen the column accordingly.
If I set the width of the dropdown list to a fixed unit such as 300px; then it widens the column accordingly.

I have a gridview that uses a sqldatasource. The rows of the gridview are
editable. When the gridview is in edit mode, one of the columns is a
dropdown. In testing the editing, I deleted the dropdown entry from one of
the rows. So, when the gridview comes up, it shows nothing in the column
where I deleted it. Then when I select to edit that same row, I get an error
because I cannot select the value for the dropdown for a non-existing value....
