how to select newly inserted row in a Gridview

I have a GridView. And i'm using a DetailView to add data to a table that a
GridView uses to display data.
After adding a row to the table i show the Gridview with the new row
added. But i would want to have the row selected to show its
the newly added row.
Thanks in advance

In ASP.NET 2.0 and the formview control how do you get the value of the identity field of a newly inserted record? In ASP.NET 1.1 after the new record was saved you just said intNewIdentityID = Dataset.tblMtTable.IndentityID Simple but can't seem to do it in the formview. Thanks

Is there a way to let the user select a gridview row by clicking anywhere in the row (e.g. on any column)? The gridview would be readonly and I would like to bring up a detailview of the row the user clicked on. Thanks.

How do I know what rows in the gridView have been recently added (and therefore need to be inserted into the DB) and which rows already came from the DB (in an initial Load() ) ? I can't do it "on the fly" since I can add to the gridview and later decide to cancel the process and not insert anything. Is there anything I can check in all the rows in the gridview that'll tell me if the row in new? I'm using VS2005 v2.0 and it's a web...

We are using .net Framework 1.1 We are having one page on which we are using this Grid component. From this page we open a popup for adding new record as well as for editing an existing record (For Edit we want to pass the ID of that particular row) And when user clicks on 'SAVE' button in popup window, those changes need to be reflected onto the parent (into the Grid). This happens by refreshing the parent page. But in that case all...

Hi, I'm using an objectdatasource. The insert procedure called by the objectdatasource is in a separate library file outside of the aspx and the codebehind that is using the objectdatasource in question (I guess that separate file would be called a bll). I had originally used the parameter list method to pass the inserted values to thie insert procedure which also gave me the ability to add a retun parameter to access the newly...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
