ASP.Net web admin error?

I have the asp.net web admin site setup on a box as a virtual directory, on
a box that does not have vs2005.

I can get to the home page of the admin site, can edit and save app settings
on the app tab, but when I go to the security tab I get:

The following message may help in diagnosing the problem: Value cannot be
null. Parameter name: path

If I click the "choose data store" button, I can see my conn str pointing at
sql db for users/roles, can 'test' it and the web says connected
successfully.

This is running iis 6, I have defined the web to run in a special app pool
as a specific user, and that user has full rights to the app web.config, and
everything in the asp.net web admin web dir.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

and, the full message might be a little more helpfull

There is a problem with your selected data store. This can be caused by an
invalid server name or credentials, or by insufficient permission. It can
also be caused by the role manager feature not being enabled. Click the
button below to be redirected to a page where you can choose a new data
store.

The following message may help in diagnosing the problem: Value cannot be
null. Parameter name: path

but like I said below, if i go to the page to choose a datastore, the one
connection there is selected, and if I click 'test' it passes. ??

I have this problem: If administrator closes administration window from "right-corner-X", how to reset administration session? Now it happens that after that kind of "illegal" closing operation login form doesn't open anymore from the admin link if administrator was logged in. Person has to close explorer in order to get to the login page again. Current solution that doesn't work:

Hi all. I'm having a problem that's driving me nuts. I am not familiar with Access, but I have read the FAQ, searched google, read the Access Security FAQ, and looked at the Access Web, to no avail. Briefly, the problem is this: I'm having an old Access 2.0 database that I want to convert to Access 2000 on a different computer. The reason why the new database is on a different computer is that the old database runs under Windows 95a...

Hi group, I am getting the "could not load type" error and I'm not sure how to debug. Obviously it's a namespace error but I don't see it. Below are code snippets. Yes, the files sit in a subdirectory called "admin". The webpages in the root directory, "psyche" do not have any errors. So it's something with the name admin? But what? Yes, all of the webpages in the admin directory have the same error with their respective webpages in the...

I currently have a user that's using DB2 without Admin rights to his local computer (XP SP2) and he gets an error message while trying to connect to a server. When I give him admin rights, he connects just fine. (I guess the exact error would be irrelivant since the same account works fine with Admin rights) Is there any resource where I can find the necessary NTFS/Registry modifications for getting a non-admin to run the DB2 components? Or...

I have a database in which Access is automatically generating a sequence of Admin tables. It is due to the ODBC error (which I haven't found yet) listed in the table. Access seems to generate these indefinitely, it looks like this in my listing of tables: Admin - 00 Admin - 01 Admin - 02 Admin - 03 Admin - 04

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
