I am new to web design and programming and was wonder which of these
two would be better to invest my time to learn.
Visual Web Developer 2005 vs. Microsoft Expression.
I would like to make very complex and neat looking web sites. I plan I
doing a lot of reports and charts pulling data out of database.
Please let me know which way I should go. Also, what is the best code
for someone to invest time learning for complex web building? 6 1912
VWD is for programming web applications using ASP.NET. Expression Web is
less oriented to programming but is very standards oriented.

If you're planning on working with databases, you'll need more than
Expression, which I believe is more for static web development and/or
fleshing out html/css for use in web applications.
You'll need to learn ASP.NET and work with Visual Web Developer Express.
It's free, and it will be more than enough to get you started.

Go for VWD - from that to visual studio is a short step. Sounds to me like
you'll end up doing more coding that cosmetics and VWD is better suited. No
reason though not to learn both tools :)

In fact, a web application may be thought of as 2 different components, one
the application process and data, and the other the user interface (HTML web
pages). VWD is tailored for application development, while Expression Web is
tailored for user interface design. I use both. And Visual Studio 2008 is
slated to ship with Expression Web as the design interface for ASP.Net web
applications. The first beta of Visual Studio 2008 is now available. You can
download it fro free at http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/vstudio/aa700831.aspx.

Thank you. Could you recommend a good Web Host Service that I can

I just received my Visual Studio upgrade to 2005 and tried to create a new
web site via File | New Web Site with location http. Unfortunately I
received the following error:
"Visual Web Developer does not support creating Web sites on a SharePoint

If I create a new server extensions 2002 web in IIS and mark it as an
application and try to use it from Visual Studio I receive the same error.

I hope that there is someone here that can help me. It's not directly
related to this group but maybe someone here can help me. I wanted to
deploy my Access database to another pc using the Access 2003 Developer
Extensions. Check the web and found out that it is part of Visual
Studio Tools for the Microsoft Office System, which in turn is a free
add-on to Visual Studio 2005. Bought Visual Studio 2005 Pro. (Plenty
money right there)....

The devenv.exe process hangs and will not respond with about 50% cpu usage

I am running it on an Athlon 64 bit dual core with 32 bit Windows XP pro. I

Hi all,
I must be out of my mind.
I used visual studio .net 2003 before and I installed 2005 a while back, but
seldom to use it. Recently I was required to start to learn C# asp.net.
So I tried to open a web application project in 2005. but I cannot find any
asp.net web application or asp.net web services project templates which I can
see them in .net 2003. What's going on? did I miss anything when I installed?
is there any easy way to...

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".

Here is my compilation command:

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
