RowCommand: accessing ObjectDataSourc e from inside gridview inside a repeater?

protected void gvAuthorizedSig ners_RowCommand (object sender,
GridViewCommand EventArgs e)
{
if (e.CommandName == "EmptyInser t")
{
odsAuthorizedSi gners.Insert();
return;
}

if (e.CommandName == "Insert")
{
odsAuthorizedSi gners.Insert();
return;
}
}

How do I findcontrol the ObjectDataSourc e for this gridview.
Normally, it wouldn't be necessary, but since this RowCommand event
can happen with any instance of the gridview, since that are multiples
(since it's inside a repeater), how do I find the ObjectDataSourc e?

I love the objectdatasource conrtol but I'm having trouble using the paging controls. I'm trying to create a user control to which I can bind a objectdatasource control. I've been successful at binding to a repeater and I would like to add paging. I understand adding all the methods for pagination to the objectdatasource but I can't figure out how to use that information to build my pagination controls. I know gridview uses this...

Hello everyone, I am using ASP.NET 2 and trying to bind a objectdatasource to a gridview. By doing this the most common way by adding an objectdatasource to the page and by using the wizard to connect to my business logic everything works fine. The problem is that I find this quite limited and I need to do some custom work with the parameters, so I am trying to code everything by hand in the code behind. >From a security perspective,...

Hi, I am creating a Composite Control within which I have a GridView. In this GridView, I have three TemplateFields, the last one being a template with a LinkButton which is meant to be clicked so I can capture this event to do something about it. The problem is that in the CreateChildControls method, I initialize the GridView and link its RowCommand event to a method (so I can capture the LinkButton Click) but it doesn't work... I put...

I am using a GridView inside a UserControl which has a template column for deleting the rows. Before databinding the gridview i am attaching the RowCommand and RowDataBound event. I am using the RowDataBound event to set the commandargument of the delete button. The event is being fired and works fine. When I press the delete button, the RowCommand event is not firing! and neither is the RowDeleting (the button's commandName is...

Hi ALL, I wonder if anyone has been using n-tier to bind to a GridView control by using the ObjectDataSource. This is our first OOP web application, and we have no tables. Right now we are simply working with objects in memory. So, it appears as though Microsoft requires that our datamapper classes reside inside a folder called "App_Code", and NO WHERE ELSE. So, has anyone successfully been able to place their datamappers in a...

Tried this over in CSharp.General and didn't get anything, so I thought I'd try again here. If there's an AJAX specific group I could ask this in, please let me know...I did look. I'm trying to code what I think is a fairly typical Master/Detail scenario with two GridViews, using AJAX. Using the Northwind sample, I have two ObjectDataSources - one which pulls data from the Orders table, and one that pulls the related data from . Each...

I have a user control which contains an UpdatePanel, which contains a MultiView inside, with a GridView in one of the views. In my GridView, I have a ButtonField which is supposed to trigger a server-side operation, using the RowCommand functionality. In IE, this all works great, but in Firefox (v2.0.0.6), clicking the above mentioned ButtonField fires off two similar AJAX requests, which is causing errors in my server-side code. ...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
