I'm having trouble using the paging controls. I'm trying to create a user
control to which I can bind a
objectdatasource control. I've been successful at binding to a repeater and
I would like to add paging. I understand adding all the methods for
pagination to the objectdatasource but I can't figure out how to use that
information to build my pagination controls. I know gridview uses this
information, but how can I? The...

Hi,
I am trying the new ObjectDataSource from ASP.NET 2.0. I connected a
Gridview with ObjectDataSource which is connected to a webservice which
returns a DataSet. In the Webmethod I return only the rows for the
current page because paging is enabled, I use the parameters
maximumRows and startRowIndex for doing this. I also got sorting to
work using the parameter sortExpression.
The method of the webservice looks like this:

Hiya,
Hope this isn't too stupid a question :)
I can bind an objectdatasource to a gridview very easily (and there's a
thousand tutorials of this on the net).
BUT!
I just want to get at the data so I can say put it in a label.text, or

Has anyone been able to get the ObjectDataSource to work with a repeater
control?
I have a select parameter that has a default value for page size that is
passed to the select method, but it seems to ignore it. It never
actually gets passed to the select method and so I'm always getting all
records returned.
The same business objects work with ObjectDataSource when using a
GridView so I know it isn't the business objects.

Hello,
I have some trouble to declare and instantiate dynamically an
ObjectDataSource in the codebehind file. The idea is to bind the
objectdatasource to a gridview and have automate sorting and paging.
The objectdatasource SelectMethod returns a dataview.
When my objectdatasource is declared in the codebehind, sorting is not
working and i receive following error when clicking on a datagrid's
column header. I made the same test...

Tried this over in CSharp.General and didn't get anything, so I
thought I'd try again here. If there's an AJAX specific group I could
ask this in, please let me know...I did look.
I'm trying to code what I think is a fairly typical Master/Detail
scenario with two GridViews, using AJAX. Using the Northwind sample,
I have two ObjectDataSources - one which pulls data from the Orders
table, and one that pulls the related data from .
Each...

All of the examples I've found regarding custom paging in a GridView that uses the ObjectDataSource control retrieve subsets of ALL of whatever it is--all products, all categories, etc--restricted only by specified PageSize. But suppose you are searching for a person by name and the user can enter into a search box any part of last name, first name, middle name, e.g., Adams or Adams M or Adams Michael This input is then a control parameter in...

Hi, (ASP.NET question)
I'm using an ObjectDataSource on a DataGridView for a custom paging/sorting scenario. I implemented a method that gets the parameters for the paging (number of rows to retrieve, index of first row) and the SortingExpression.
In my page I have a lot of controls, used to determine which data I have to select from the DB. Since I'm using the custom paging, I had to make a static method that gets the above mentioned...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
