Hi all, I have a form that contains a 2 column table. In the left column is the description for a particular input (ie - "First Name", "Last Name", "Phone Number", etc.). In the right column is the input element. The left column is right aligned and the right column is left aligned. I would like to replace this table with code that does not use a table for layout, and was hoping someone might be able to help me with the HTML and...

I am trying to turn a short and fat (63 columns) table into one that is tall and skinny (7 columns). Basically, I am trying to create a "reverse crosstab" using a looping structure in VBA along with SQL. I'd like to take the name of the column and input it into a descritor field. This isn't the table, but will serve as a better illustration than the real deal. If the table looks like this:

Dear NG, After being away from C# programming for a spell, I am trying my hand at what should be a simple task. I have been hitting my head against the wall this morning. I have a simple order entry application. The code below gets line items from a SQL Server database and returns them to a datagrid by way of a DataTable called lineTable. As long as I am just displaying columns in the SQL database everything works well. I now want...

Hello, If anyone could help me with this I would highly appreciate it. I've tried everything and nothing works. What I am trying to do is so damn basic and it's just frustrating that it seems there's no support for this. Either that or I'm doing something wrong. Well, enough venting, here's what I need. Using this sample XML file (test.xml):

Pardon my not knowing where to find this one... but try finding the meaning of "this" on the net or in reference books. I'm trying to follow this example from Apress book - Introduction to C# 2.0 (page 179) and it bothers me that I don't quite get something I'm sure should be understood at this point of the book. Line 53: public DataValue this I think "this" means the local member.. Can somebody explain (in

Hi, I have a GridView and a SqlDataSource controls on a page. The SqlDataSource object uses stored procedures to do the CRUD operations. The DataSource has three columns one of which - "Modified" of type DateTime - is hidden since it should not be edited by a user. The system handles the update for this column. So, I have hidden (Visible=false) this column on the grid. In order to access the value in this field, I have created a...

Hello! Here is the statement in question: --STATEMENT A SELECT * FROM dbo.myTable WHERE colX in (SELECT colX FROM dbo.sourceTable) The problem with Statement A is that 'colX' does not exist in 'dbo.sourceTable'. It does, however, certainly exist in 'dbo.myTable'. Breaking the statement down, we have:

For example, if I have a DB table called DownloadPoints with a column named DownloadPointNo, then SqlMetal will create a file with a class called DownloadPoints with an accessor named DownloadPointNo. I would like the object to be able to pass me the string "DownloadPointNo". For example, the code could be something like: DownloadPoints dp = new DownloadPoints(); string colName = dp.DownloadPointNo.ColumnName; Or I could write a...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
