Hi,
I am creating some ASP.NET composite server controls (inheriting from
CompositeContro l). Right now I have the styles for the various objects
hardcoded, but what I would like to do is allow the user to use a stylesheet
without actually knowing the internal structure of the control. I am
insterested in knowing some of the best pracises for using stylesheets with
composite controls.
For example, when a person sets a border style on the main object, I would
like it not to affect the main container but rather the chile controls such
as textboxes and so on. 1 1632
Peter,
I think that to apply a CSS style to a child control, you would need to
write logic to do this.
Hope this helps,
Steve

All,
I have written a very simple custom composite control that includes a
control of type System.Web.UI.WebControls.Table.
The control renders fine in run time, but for some reason, it does not
render properly in design time.
In design time it renders something like this:

Hi all.
My problem is that I can't handle events raised from child components within
a composite server control when the control is created dynamically.
Everything works fine if the same control is defined within an aspx page
<MyTag:MyControl id="MyControl1" runat="server">: MyControl handle
succesfully events raised from its children.
When I try to create dynamically MyControl and to Add it to another control,
event handling doesn't work...

I have a collection of controls I am using on several pages. I have:
1 Image
2 Labels
I want to combine these so that I will also have certain properties
available programatically.
I want to be able to set a 'photoId' Property, that, when set, will call
data from a database, set the Image's src property, and set the Label text.

Hi. Because I'm a beginner in creating controls, I spent more than two *&^#$
hours to create this "login" as a custom control and to make it work
properly:

Imports System.ComponentModel
Imports System.Web.UI
Imports System.Web.UI.WebControls

I am authoring a composite server control (inheriting from
System.Web.UI.Control) that uses a good chunk of client side javascript. To
make this work I need to call RegisterArrayDeclaration and in a manner
simmilar to the following:
Page.RegisterArrayDeclaration(
dataObjectArrayName,
string.Format(
"{{ spanID:'{0}', calendarID:'{1}' }}",

I have a "master" composite control which, in turn, holds an instance of a "detail" composite control (the "master" control will
ultimately contain multiple instances of the "detail" control, but I'm keeping things simple to try and figure out what's going
wrong). The master control supports databinding.
Upon postback, the detail control is not retrieving its state from ViewState after it is created and added to the master control
during...

This involves a family of related, databound ASPNET2 composite controls.
I've managed to arrange things so that the composite controls restore themselves from ViewState on postback after they're initially
configured during DataBind(). Thanks to Steven Cheng for pointing out that you have to set the constituent control properties after
you add them to the composite control collection for the restore to work!
However, I now have a...

I have created a fairly basic composite control consisting of a Label
and a TextBox. In the overridden Render function, I'm creating a
table with two rows and each row contains a cell (td). The Label and
the TextBox are each rendered in one of the cells. Everything renders
fine. The problem is that depending on the column the control
represents I may want the textbox to be a different visible size
during both design and runtime. I...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...
