welcome.

What level of ASP.NET knowledge do you already have, if any...?

Not much at all (have strong skills in VBA and HTML mainly), and half
forgotten what I did know. Looking for something which ranges from basics to
in depth.

Thanks

In which case, I'd suggest starting with this:

It's probably no bad thing that you don't remember too much about VBA -
ASP.NET is *very* different from ASP Classic...

The best all around ASP.NET book I've seen is probably "ASP.NET Unleashed"
http://www.amazon.com/dp/067232542X?...ZDPN6SBPNYQX6&

As for an AJAX book, I must shamelessly plug my new book, Beginning ASP.NET
2.0 AJAX:

I have a more detailed list of ASP.NET related book recommendations here:

If you are just starting out, I humbly recommend the best resource of all
(which is 100% free) : the ASP.NET QUICKSTARTS which you can install with the
product, or visit the online version at http://asp.net site.

Also, your AJAX info is there too, also FREE.

The kind folks from Redmond have put a huge amount of effort into this. Not
to sound like a broken MP3, but I've been doing this stuff since the first
beta in 2000 - and I still go there to look up stuff when I'm having a
"Senior moment". You should, too.

I have a few years in programming Basics, then to PDS 7.0, then finally went to VB Pro 5. I do software support for software that works with both Oracle and SQL Server, so I mostly just write queries to look at the data related to the software. When I first started, I bought a couple of books to learn the basics, intentionally going with generic books that would help with both types of databases. I've got the basics down, and now...

Hi. I'm looking for some recommendations for Visual Basic 2005 books. As an...

Hi all, I'd like to ask for book recommendations, please. I'm a VB guy looking to move to C#. I have quite a fair amount of experience of VB.NET (and prior to that, VB4 through VB6), so I'm not new to programming or the .NET framework itself. I am also quite versed in general "object oriented" programming, especially since moving to...
