Hi,
I created an image gallery which displays 63 images in a slideshow. The
problem is that the show was slow because each image loaded one at a time
during the show. No problem right? I just did a preload script. But then the
user has to sit for 5 minutes waiting for 63 images to download! My images
are about 640x480 and average 100kb. Is this too much for one page to load?
Should I load my slideshow into differerent windows? If so,...

Hi!
Did anyone successfully managed to use some custom ADO.NET
provider with SqlDataSource? I'd like to connect to some
other database than MSSQL (like MySQL, Firebird or PostgreSQL)
but I'm having problems making this work.
Inside connectionStrings I added my name, provider and
connectionString but for some reason SqlDataSource is trying
to use System.Data.SqlClient even if my provider is
different.

I'm building some user controls. I very much like how you can build custom
properties to be bound to a user control, and how instances of that control
will show those custom properties in the VS.NET IDE.
I've made a user control -- let's call it MyUserControl.ascx -- with a
DataGrid and an SqlDataSource. The SqlDataSource that loads content by
categoryID.
I've defined a property on MyUserControl.ascx called ContentCategoryID.

Hi,
I have SqlDataSource control that makes a "select count" to show how many
rows there are in a Table and it is working fine on first page load.
The problem is that when I am inserting a new row to the database table at
the same ASPX page the rows count from the SqlDataSource remain the same.
To refresh the SqlDataSource I have used his
Select(DataSourceSelectArguments.Empty) but no luck.

I had previously (in asp.net 1.1 and asp.net web matrix) just done this to
populate a listbox with data from a database:
------------ this was from the page load event ----------------
'fill recipient address list box
Dim cnn As SqlConnection
cnn = New SqlConnection(Application("cnn").ToString())
Dim cmdGetAllRecipientAddresses As SqlCommand = New
SqlCommand("GetAllRecipientAddresses", cnn)

Hi,
I want to limit the amount of data shown in a page coming from a database.
Everything works except that I get the error:
"Unable to cast object of type 'System.Web.UI.WebControls.SqlDataSource' to
type 'System.Collections.IEnumerable'"
on line: PageDataSource.DataSource = SqlDataSource2
Thanks for help

I would like to get some ideas and opinions of my solution for
dataconnection on asp.net 2.0
I have created a class which encapsulates the sqldatasource usage.
With my class one can set select-, insert-, update- and deletecommand
with and without parameters and also get output parameters

This seems like it should be simple to do but for some reason I have
been unable to make it work.
I would like to databind a SqlDataSource to a GridView during the
click event of a button. This sounds easy but the next requirement is
that the GridView is editable. So I have included the SelectCommand
and the UpdateCommand on the SqlDataSource to allow the GridView to be
editable. I have now been able to get the GridView to display data...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
