Hi,
We are looking for a tool that can be used by a non-developer admin
user to visually move page elements around on a designer to
automatically generate master pages. Is there such a tool available
other than VS 2005?
Our aim is to create a package that allows admin users to create
portals and customize them per client. The customization would involve
generating master pages as per the client needs. This has to be done
without coding being involved.
Thanks,
Yash 2 2025
I think the closest you can come to being unrealistic is to use the former
FrontPage re-engineered as the SharePoint Designer which supports SharePoint
of course otherwise you'll have to be like everybody else and require your
admins to climb out of their monkey suit and acquire some skills.

Expression Web Designer does a fair job of creating/generating master pages, too.

Has anyone found useful tutorials on how to deal with the shortcomings of master pages, specifically, the fact that they don't
handle HTML file references when used to create web pages anywhere other than the root folder of a website?
I'm familiar with using the runat="server" workaround for img tags (and supposedly that works for <a> tags,...

I have a windows 2000 server on which I have installed the .NET 2.0
Framework runtime. I have an application I've written using VS 2005. In
it, I use master pages. When I debug this app on my machine, it looks
great. When I run it on the server, it looks like crap - no master page
goodness is being employed. This is the first ASP.NET 2.0...

Hi all,
I have enough experience with HTML/classic ASP to get by, and I'm trying to
learn ASP.NET.
Traditionally, I've taken the habit of breaking out extra-long CSS files
into multiple, smaller ones, and referring to them in my HTML/ASP files on
an as-needed basis. Essentially, I've organized things as:

Hi,
I'm a newbie to master pages & have added images dragged from my image
folder directly to a master page. This image is available to all forms that
use this master page.
However, if I add an image control, a frame or layer object to my master
page, then save & build, these don't show up on my forms, nor does anything
in them.
Is this...
