Which one of the following is NOT a valid state management tool?

The question is:

Which one of the following is NOT a valid state management tool?

And the possible answers are:

1. Hidden Form Fields

2. Cookies

3. Query State

4. Application State

5. Session State
The correct answer is Query State. Can someone explain to me why this
is considered the right answer?

Cos it is easily changed by the user? You could say the same thing about
hidden form fields though and to an extent cookies.

Because the term is deliberately misspelled as a "trick". The correct term is
QueryString, not "query state". And Query String IS a valid answer.

Hello all, I am trying to migrate my site from In-proc state management to out-of-proc SQL state management. I am having problems with the serialization of my classes. I have added the attribute to the classes, which works, but some of the classes' objects (XmlDocument is one example), are causing errors:

Can collection classes be used to store session data? In a couple of books on ASP.Net where they discuss state management (to capture a user's input data), they talk about session and application objects, cookies, statebag, etc. But if I have a checkboxlist, can't I just iterate through the selected items and store them in a collection class for use in later pages in the web app? Would there be implications of doing it this way? Thank...

Could someone point me in the direction of good discussions on scalable state management solutions? Specifically, pros and cons of following strategies: Strategy 1 : temporary business-objects are implicitly stored in RAM, "permanent" business objects are explicitly stored in SQL-Server Strategy 2 : both temporary and permanent business-objects are implicitly stored in SQL-Server

Hello, I’m currently writing an asp.net application that will be running on a Windows XP Professional workstation utilising IIS and MSDE Database. At a later date this application will need to run on a Windows Server 2003 IIS web farm utilising either MSDE Database or SQL Server Database. I’m developing this application utilising Microsoft’s Development Environment 2002 version.

Can anyone point me to a good location for state management information. I am having to re-code a good portion of my login code to properly manage persistent state. As it is right now, I was saving the object(user) into the HttpContext.Current, but I find this does not persist from page to page. I am using FormsAuthentication and saving it to an encrypted cookie. Can I maintain state like this or would it be ineffecient to store an...

Hi All, We have an application that uses SQL Server 2000 for State Management data. We previously use to build and deploy this application using ASP.NET Beta 2 version. Now we are using ASP.NET RTM version. With that, we are able to build & deploy the application successfully. But it gives us the error "The Session State information is valid or might be corrupted." while retrieving data from SQL Server. We can see the data stored...

Hello, My company is developing a rather large application with .NET 2.0. We are expanding to a server farm and are in the process of converting our application to use an out-of-process session state management with SQL Server. We have ran into a problem with the Session_onEnd event. We know it's not supposed to fire when in an out-of-process mode, but we have a large amount of code that must be executed to clean the session and to

Is this a valid approach to State Management? What I do is define a class 'State' which holds all the objects etc. that I need to store in the Session. I can then get my state object and reference all the objects that I need . Later I can then save my state object back for use later. This makes coding much simpler than storing individual items in the session state but is there a performance hit for working this way?

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
