Hello all,
I am writing a script where I need to use the system() function to call
htpasswd. I can do this just fine on the command line...works great
(see attached file, test.php). When my webserver runs that part of the
script (see attached file, snippet.php), though, it doesn't go through.
I don't get an error message or anything...it just returns a "1"
(whereas it should return a "0") as far as I can tell. I have read the
PHP...

I have a desktop VB.Net application I developed locally. I uploaded it to a
file server we have and the .Net Framework is installed on the file server.
When I try to run the executable from the network drive, I get,
"System.Security.SecurityException."
When I Open the solution from the network drive, I get, "The project
location is not fully trusted by the .Net runtime.
And then when I click ok and try to run in debug mode I get...

I've created a VB.Net program running perfectly under local hard drive. But when move it to a network path (both UNC name and drive mapping tested), it gave "An exception 'System.Security.SecurityException' has occurred".
Anybody has any idea to resolve this issue?
Appreciate any advise.

This is also posted in the security newsgroup. Sorry for cross-posting, but
I'm desperate.
I have a Winforms application in VB.NET with a SQL Server (MSDE) backend. In
the root application directory I have an XML file, LicXML.XML which holds
licensing info for the app.
On one group of machines where the users have restricted privileges, the
deserialization of this file trips an error as follows (excuse mispellings
from my client):

I have a web app which uses the new ASP.NET 2.0 login control to
authenticate against active directory. Now, I would like to use the
new namespaces (ActiveDirectoryMembershipProvider,
ActiveDirectoryMembershipUser, MembershipUser, Membership, etc) to
retrieve the logged in user properties available. I have been able to
get the logged in username when using Forms auth. with the following
code. Unfortunately, it doesn't work when I use...

I am trying to write a change password routine using the new

Can you guys point me to something that tells me what I'm doing wrong, please?

Having trouble using ActiveDirectoryMembershipProvider with one specific
website. When attempting to login to the site, after a long period of time
(about 2 - 3 minutes), "Server Application Unavailable" message is returned.
If I switch the provider back to SQLServer everything works fine.
If I create a new simple Web Application and just add a Login.aspx page and
Default.aspx page, and nothing else, and add a Login Control everything...

Hi,
I am using ActiveDirectoryMembershipProvider for authentication. In my
development environment I don't have any Active Directory available for
development and test. Basically my development environment is a windows xp
laptop.
I am trying to avoid running a domain controller on my laptop. What would
be the easiest way to develop and test my application without running a
domain controller on my laptop?

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
