I have a problem that I figured would be relatively common, but have
been unable to find any information on it as of yet. I have a page
that contains two DropDownList controls, with the second being
dependent on the value of the first. My DropDownList control
definitions look like this:
<asp:dropdownlist id="ddlLocCty" runat="server" CssClass="SmlBox"
AutoPostback="True" CausesValidation="False"></asp:dropdownlist>
<asp:dropdownlist...

I'm wondering about the mechanics of databinding.
Say that a textbox is bound to a property of a business object. The
business object is a "Person". The control is a textbox called
"ctlFirstName", and it's bound to the "FirstName" property of "Person".
Why doesn't the following work?
myForm.Show();
Person p = new Person();

Hello, I am using an editable datagrid. After I save the changes the
datagrid shows the old values.
I've read the posts about the Page_Load and not binding the datagrid
each time. The SQL that is being sent to the database is correct and
the changes are eventually being made. If I refresh the page after the
update then the new values appear.
I noticed that when I put a breakpoint in my update handler everything
works fine. When I take...

I have a seating chart web form that has over 50 entry field controls
(tables/booths) where I use a DropDownList box to select a single company
name from a single large list of organizations (200 plus conference
attendees). All web form datavalues will be one of the same 200
organizations in this list. I would like to avoid creating 50 separate exact
copies of the same DataSet object. Can you help?
Q. Exactly how do I use the same...

Hi There,
I am developing a shopping cart web application in C#. Product
pricing for an item changes based on the weight of product purchased.
ie: 100g=$4.95, 200g=$7.95, etc. Pricing is different for each
product.
When viewing the cart, I would like the the user to have the ability
to select a different weight, specific to that item, which would then
modify the price of that cart item.

I've seen articles on GotDotNet and elsewhere on how to put a ddl in a
datagrid, and have been able to implement this technique. For a new item,
among the datagrid columns there is the one ddl for the user to choose an
account description, and when the user saves, then the value is saved and
displayed in a bound column in the datagrid. So far so good.
The problem is when the user edits the line. The ddl is refreshed with all
of the...

Hi
I have a aspx application written in c#.
I have created a datagrid control on the page.
One of the columns in the control is a dropdownlist.
I would like to set the data source of the dropdownlist to a different
recordset for each row.
How can I do this in C#?
I have used the ItemDataBound event, to set the DataSource for each row
of the dropdownlist.

In ASP.NET 2.0 I have a dropdownlist populated from a sqldatasource. The
dropdownlist values are successfully populated from a database table. I would
like to add the value "Select Company" which will be the selected value when
the page loads. I attempted to use the code below to add "Select Company"
dynamically but it is not added. Only the values from the database are in the
dropdownlist. I also tried to added it to the dropdownlist...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
