(cross posted - comp.databases.ms-access, microsoft.public.access)
Hello folks - this is my first post here, after a short lurk.
I have written an application in Access2002 for a friend's business
which allows him to take orders, arrange deliveries and trace
deliveries back in the event of subsequent complaints.
It uses a handful of tables in a relational schema, with a few
ancillary lookup tables, some forms, reports and VBA modules.

Hi!
I'm wondering what it is that makes IE prompt users to save user name and
password. I have a web site coded in C#/.Net and part of it is protected by
means of a form. When I key in user name and password I'm not prompted to
save this information. Lots of other web sites that I access give me this
option. Can someone help me understand why I'm not asked by IE/Windows?

I'm currently using ASP.NET with VS2003 and SQL Server 2003. The ASP.NET app
i have made is running on IIS v6 and consists of a number of pages that allow
the user to read information from the database into classes, which are used
throughout the application. I have made class collections which, upon reading
from the DB, create an instance of the class and store the DB values in
there temporarily. My problem is that if user1 looks at...

Hi
What is the recommended way to store a user's database credentials across
the pages of a web application so that each time the database is accessed the
system doesn't have to ask them for their username and password again
We have previously stored these in a session variable (encrypted) and
retrieved from their - but are worried about the impact on performance if the
number of users increases.
Had thought about cookies but worried...

So, I have this content management system I've developed myself. The
system has a solid community part where members can register and then
participate in forums, write weblogs and a ton of other things.
So, in instances where I list, for example, the latest weblogs. I list
the headline of the weblog, the date and the name of the member who
wrote it.
Now, the name isn't just "Smith", but rather Smith's online status,
his nick and his...

Hi,
we're struggling with a strange session problem in an ASP.NET 2.0
application. The application is used by our customers to access
customer-related information such as invoices over the internet. Customer
have to log-in and are then identified by their customer number and some
other information stored in the session. We use the asp.net session cookie
system to keep track of the sessions. This works quite well. Unfortunately
though,...

Access 2003
I've been experiencing some problems with my "monster" database the
last couple of days. I imported all objects into a new database
yesterday, which pretty much stopped the crashing problems, but here's
something weird: Whenever I copy an object (reports so far), I am
able to open it and make changes, but when I try to save it (without
closing), it appears to save (message box goes off), but it doesn't.
Then, if I try to...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
