Hi there,
I'm using VS 2005. During installion (at the end of installation) it
asked for which IDE interface would you like to use like Web
developper, Visual Basic 6, Visual basic.NET etc. I'm not sure which
one I've choosen but I don't see the DEBUG/RELEASE dropdownlist box
anymore. I'm sure it's related with this setting.
I looked at the Tools-options but I can't find it.
Can someone help me how can I get in that menu to choose other IDE
format, short cut keyboard?
At least how can I get the dropdownlistbox for the debug?
thanks in advance,

I think there is no a DEBUG/RELEASE dropdownlist in VS.NET 2005
(unlike VS.NET 2002/2003).
To change the mode, go to Build - Configuration Manager.
To change the interface - Tools - Import and Export Settings.
In the command tab, I believe this is the "Solution configuration" command
in "Generate" (translated from French).

I'd like to purchase Visual C# .Net for learning purposes only since it's a
lot cheaper than Visual Studio (note that I'm a very experienced C++
developer). Can someone simply clarify the basic differences. Ok, Visual
Studio has C++, VB and J++ thrown in plus some extra bells and whistles (I
already have some minimal experience) but are both IDE's essentially the
same (including the same IDE support for creating forms, ADO.NET DataSets,...

MS Visual Studio Ad contained in VS Magazine.
Two developers in "hip" clothing diagramming out a huge flow chart on a

I could NOT stop laughing at the stupidity of the ad -- "Let your ideas run
free"....only to be washed up by the waves when the tide comes in -- this is
exactly so so so Microsoft. Re-invent the dev tools every 3-5 years in the
name of progress and hope developers don't notice -- good revenue generation

Hi everyone.
I am an Access developer having worked with Access-dev. projects for
many years on Sql server databases and Access.
For the internet I have been using traditional asp.
But now I have tried asp.net and this tool seemes great to me.
Haven't tried Vb for Visual Studio net, but hope to do that in the very
future.
Hope that this version of vb goes well together with asp.net although I
don't know how.

I would like to take my ASP.NET project to another computer, which doesn't
have Visual Studio.
If I modify the code there, is there a way to recompile it without Visual
Studio?
Thanks!

Hi,
I've installed (by that I mean a full uninstall and re-install) Visual
Studio 2005 at least twice on my 64-bit windows machine (AMD64). I make
sure I install the SDK 2.0 for x64, and the installation is completed
'Succesfully' as per the setup dialogs.
However, when I try to open the IDE by clicking on the shortcut, or
attempting to open \Common7\IDE\devenv.exe, I get the following dialog:

Hi,
This is an issue that happens to me and everybody else I know and I've never
found a way around it.
In Visual Studio (currently using 2003 but the same has happened for me in
2005 and 2008 as well)
If I put a breakpoint in a .js file, the debugger picks it up and breaks
into it at that point.

I'm not sure if this is an IIS 5.1 issue or ASP.NET issue, or Visual Studio
2008 issue -- thus posting to 3 groups. Please don't be offended.
The problem I'm encountering is that Visual Studio closes unexpectedly and
without any error message being displayed, or error messages written to the
system logs. Visual Studio closes when I attempt to open an ASP.NET Web
application (not Web site) solution for which IIS is set as the project's...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
