Or, just set the various properties that server-side controls have and the
appropriate CSS will be generated for you.

Personally, I am totally confused with the following control terms and usage and advantages of each one in ASP.NET web application. Here's what I know so far.. 1. HTML Client Control: understood by the client only. e.g. <input type="text" name="emp_name"> 2. HTML Server Control: understood by the server only. e.g. <input type="text" name="emp_name" runat="server"> 3. Web Server Control: understood by the server only. e.g. <asp:TextBox

Help! I have an asp table with an embedded table. The asp tablerow that contains this table has a static ID assigned of "FilterRow2" (see snippets of code below). When I click on the button to set the tablerow style property to "None", the row (And embedded table) briefly disappear, but then bounce right back into sight. Any ideas on why it's doing this and how to make the style.display = "None" stick?

I want to know if ASP.NET Web Forms Validation Controls are Server-Side or Client-Side form validation? Since I think each validator control can select either 1) JavaScript based error dialog or 2) show the error message next to the control. For example, if the text field is empty with RequiredField Validator control, it can show the value in ControlToValidate property in two ways as I mentioned. Please advise. Thanks!

Is it possible to programatically examine and modify a page's Styles (including Cascading Style Sheets) within the code-behind-module (eg. c#) ? My guess is that since these are HTML elements the answer is no, since these will only exist in the browser whereas the code-behind runs on the web server, but I wanted verification from you experts out there (I'm new to ASP.NET). If the answer is no, is it possible via javascript ?

Hi, I have a webform with various asp controls on it such as textboxes and dropdownlists. I'm fairly new to asp.net coming from VB6 and am wondering when it's best to use client side events and when it's best to use server side events. For example, if a textbox is to contain a date I want to validate the date when that textbox loses the focus. If the date is not valid I make visible a label next to the textbox telling the user it's

In an ASCX, I have a Literal control into which I inject a at runtime. litInjectedContent.Text = dataClass.GetHTMLSnippetFromDB(someID); This works great as long as the contains just client-side HTML, CSS, etc. What I want to do is somehow insert a *server control* into the , then set the server control's properties at runtime.

Dear all, I am new in asp.net and prepare myself for exam I still have dificulties to understand the difference between server control and HTML control. Okey things whcih are clear are the fact that for server control component , code is running on the server side. But if I take as example a Label. I place on a webform an HTM label control and a WebForm label control, I could see that properties are different for

I was thinking about developing a workflow application yesterday and was musing over the different approaches than one could take in restricting specific actions on a ticket( Form ) at any said stage. One approach I have used on other systems is to prevent the action buttons appearing. For example, if one did not have the Role of Administrator, one would be prevented from deleting a ticket not created by oneself. However, it did occur...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
