Button stops firing click event when JavaScript file is embeded after upgrade to IE7

Hi,

I have an application using IE6 before and now we have upgraded to
IE7. After upgrading, I have been having issues with button click
event when embedded JavaScript file into the page. Removing the
embeded java scrip file makes my button fire the click event again.

Does anyone has the same problem? If so, what is the solution for it?

Sunny

I'd have to think there is a problem in your JavaScript file.
Perhaps if you posted it's code we could help more.

I posted this on the asp.net group, also. I wasn't sure whether this was an asp.net problem or a javascript problem. I have a page that was originally created from a program I found on the net that works well as an html page. It brings up a modal popup window that I have been trying to work out for days now and this was the closest I have been able to come. I added a little asp.net code and an asp.net button and cannot get it to

Hi- I had this nice little wizard application running. It was comprised of several Panel controls initially set w/ their visibility off except for the first one, then as you progress through the page, a code-behind method would manage the correct panel's visibility, giving the illusion of separate steps. Fine, great. All the panels has server button controls for "Next" and "Previous" The last panel has a button control (server of...

I have one frame that needs to cause a button click event on another frame. I was trying to do this by putting a display:none LinkButton on the target frame, and having a javascript on that page that can be called by the remote frame, and the javascript would say btn.click() ... but that doesn't cause the form to submit. How can I accomplish what I am after (firing the event for the specified button when triggered from a remote frame)? ...

I have a page with bunch of user controls and standard controls on the page. And then I have a Button control on the page which is used to save the data on server side. All was working fine and dandy till yesterday. Today the button click event started showing some weired behavior. Some time the code will not get into that handler. And I have tracked down the pattern when it is not working. I have 2 combo box controls on the page which...

I am on the 2.0 framework and have run the c:\windows\microsoft.net \framework\v1.1.4322\aspnet_regiis.exe -c and had no success. About half of the buttons on my webforms are firing and the other half are not, primarily anything on the Master is firing but those in the content pane are not. This was working fine yesterday!! I've reviewed all the code changes and can't seem to find a culprit. Here's one example of what I'm trying to...

I am continuing to develop an Access 2007 application which was originally converted from Access 2003. In Access 2003 I was able to disable the Access Close button in the top righthand corner of the screen. I have been unable to find any way to disable this button in Access 2007 and subsequently I have been forced to find ways to detect and handle the situations after the Access Close button has been clicked. I have been largely...

I have an ASP.NET 2 page with a button that causes a credit card transaction to be authorised. The authorisation procedure may take a few seconds and so I want to prevent the user from clicking the button again (or at least detect that an authorisation is already in progress and do nothing) while the first authorisation is in progress. Can someone help me out? I've tried the following but none of the solutions work: 1) Disabling the...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
