memory limit

I need an information.

I've a ASP.NET web application on windows2003r2 server with IIS 6.

In framework 1.0 memory limit for a worker process is 800MB;
in framework 1.1 the limit is 1600MB with /3GB option.

This is Right??

Which is the limit for framework 2.0 and how can i monitor it (which
counter?) ?

TIA,

Marco Sellani.

In IIS 6.0, you can configure the memory limit to your taste/needs.

See complete instructions for doing that here :

http://www.asp.net/faq/aspnetandiis6.aspx

....in the section titled : "Configurin g worker process memory limits".

re:

Not a limit, but a good recommendation,
is allocating 60% of the server's physical memory.

Allocating more than 60% could be too restrictive on the OS's RAM needs.

I've been googling all day and I haven't seen anyone else having this problem, so I thought I'd check to see if I'm unique or I should be expecting this behavior. I've recompiled and reinstalled my PHP SO for Apache with the configure flag "--enable-memory-limit" I'm running Apache 2.0.52 and PHP 5.0.3 (on FreeBSD 5.3). After restarting Apache with the new PHP SO in place, I checked phpinfo(). The "configure line" does, in fact, show...

I am using SQL 8 Personal edition with sp2 applied. I set the max server memory to 32MB and leave the min server memory at 0. When my application starts hitting the database hard the memory usage reported through task manager peaks between 41-42MB. I've stopped and restarted the MSSQLserver service and checked that the running values are what I set them to be. Does anybody have any ideas as to why the sqlservr.exe would be utilizing more...

We migrated to 8.1 from 7.2 this weekend. Everything ran ok over the weekend, but we have a light user load then (about 200 users.) Today when we had close to 600 users connecting and running applications, the db2syscs.exe process started gobbling up memory until it hit about 1.7 gigs (which seems to be the limit from what I've read) then it started crapping out.. We have shrunk the buffer pools to much lower that they used to be in 7,...

I have two questions: (1) How (if possible) can you, with ASP.NET (and with the IIS 5 included with win2000) specify an maximum limit of the memory that a web application may consume, as an absolute number of megabytes ??? ( I am aware of the "memoryLimit" attribute in the "processModel" element in the Web.config but that only specifies the maximum allowed memory size, as a percentage of total system memory, and I don't want a...

Im runnign various versions of DB2 on various UNIX platforms (Solaris / AIX). DB2 is generally eating up about 30% of memory on these systems (4Gb of RAM, which equates to over a gig). i want to limit DB2s memory usage to a couple of hundred meg in total for the entire application, but cannot seem to find out how to do this. When i check the instance memory usage with db2mtrk, it says its only using a few Megs. I cannot find out how...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
