Standard exception classes in C++ have what() which returns const char
* and
they have constructors accepting string.
Where is that string created and when is the string destroyed?
In the function below, e is a local object so when the function
terminates,
the internal string should be gone too, isn't it?

I have a WHERE clause that could be an "=" or a "LIKE" depending upon
if the passed variable is populated or not. I would like to know the
best way to write the WHERE clause to make it dynamically switch

Is there any way for one Session to remove and update objects in another

IE.. Tools -> Internet Options -> Settings Button ->
Check for newer versions of stored pages = Never
If a user changes thier settings to this, then pages are cached in IE.
From what we've found, you have to use the following Meta tags in the HEAD
section to stop it doing it.
meta http-equiv="Pragma" content="no-cache"
meta http-equiv="Expires" content="0"

Have loaded balanced web servers that we do not allow to connect to our
database. Content is created and pushed to these sites. I want to add a web
service that may get multiple requests a second depending on peak access. I
have built an XML file from SQL DB and pushed this file to web server. I
want to load XML file at application startup and leave it cached if possible
(it will vary in size from 1-2MB) and treat it like an SQL table...

Please forgive the cross-post to multiple forums. I did it
intentionally, but I *think* it was appropriate given the nature of my
question.
I'm working on an open source code library to help automate and clean
up parameter validation code. It's almost ready to go into open beta.
But one last little glitch is holding me up, and that would be the
name of the factory class that serves as the entry point into the
