When I try to connect to a sql server database using Windows Authentication,
I get a message that the login failed:

Cannot open database "codelib" requested by the login. The login failed.
Login failed for user ABCD\ASPNET'.

Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the
current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information
about the error and where it originated in the code.

Exception Details: System.Data.Sql Client.SqlExcep tion: Cannot open database
"codelib" requested by the login. The login failed. Login failed for user

You are connecting using ABCD\ASPNET as the database user,
but that user doesn't have permission to access the codelib database.

Either create a database login for ABCD\ASPNET or change to
mixed authentication mode and use any user you want to use,
as long as the user has a login for that database.

I now get the following error message after copying an asp.net application to the deployment web server. I don't have SQLExpress or any version of SQL 2005 installed. I found the "LocalSQLServer" connection string in the machine.config, changed that to look at a SQL 2000 database, but the error still comes up. An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be...

Hi folks, I'm a VB newbie - been using PowerBuilder for 12 years and thought I'd see how Visual Basic has come along these days. I'm using MS Visual Studio 2005 Professional, trying to connect to a SQL Server 2000 Standard (SP4) database on another machine. For weeks, whenever I've had time to try this, I have gone through the "Add New Data Source..." wizard, filled in all of the information

I downloaded the personal website starter kit and when I run it I get the error shown below. I found a way of using Launch Surface Area Configuration that is supposed to fix the remote setting but I tried it and still get the error. I do not have SQL Server 2005 installed (thought I did once). I do have SQL Server 2008 installed. I don't see anywhere in the code where SQL Server 2005 is referenced.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
