I managed to get error checking does in my application. In using the
Exception object I can get all the information I need about the error like
the line # where the exception occurred. IS there a way I can have it also
return my the physical line of code at that line number in the StackTrace as
well?????????? This would be helpful because some errors occur just b/c the
user didn’t login, thus a needed Session variable was not on that...

In the Application_OnStart event in global.asax, my code calls an
AlertService which creates a System.Timers.Timer() object. So this service
doesn't actually run in conjunction with a specific aspx page, apparently.
When the timer's Elapsed event handler fires, it calls some other classes I
have written. These classes output some Trace statements that you can view
if an aspx page calls them, but I can't seem to figure out where the Trace...

Hi,
is it a wise thing to do to place trace listeners (that write to a text
file) into an asp.net application.
I wish to do this for testing so that a user may vist as many different
pages as they like and the trace information for that session will be kept
in a sigle place.
I have implemented a logger and added a trace switch to my web.config file

I have attempted to lock down the trace.axd file with the standard:
<location path="trace.axd">
<system.web>
<authorization>
<allow roles="SOME GROUP"/>
<deny users="*"/>
</authorization>
</system.web>
</location>

Hi,
I have set up a new web site application in VS 2005, and have created a
couple of pages which seem to run ok.
I then manually added a file called Global.asax.vb, within a folder that I
also manually created 'App_Code' with the start code as below:
Imports System.Security
Imports System.Security.Principal

When I was using VS2003, I was able to compile my asp.net project locally on
my machine and copy it to the production server and it would run just fine.
I've now converted to VS2005. The project compiles & runs fine locally, but
when I copy to the production machine, I get this error:
Parser Error Message: Could not load type 'Global'.
Source Error:
Line 1: <%@ Application Codebehind="Global.asax.vb" Inherits="Global" %>

Hi Everyone,
I have encountered this problem that I am not able to figure out. Please drop me some lines if you have any idea how to solve this issue. I have a global.asax file in my web site. It works fine as I wanted when loading aspx file; however, I have some static page in the same directory such as html and htm page. These page also load correctly and the global.asax file does fire when executing my .net development environment....

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
