Greetings, all,
Several days after adding personalized URLs to my "amazing" collection
of "God Loves (yourname)" mazes, it occurred to me that if someone were
to create an offcolor term, then copy the URL to his own web page, that
I might be penalized because my page would include that text on the
resulting page.
For example, let's say that "GOD LOVES JOKES" has negative
connotations. Someone could create:

Hi there, hope someone can help me on this:
I'm planning to deploy several ASP.NET projects to a production server.
Normally I used the "Project / Copy project" option in VS.NET, but to this
production server I only have FTP access. I tried copying the files with a
FTP tool, but it seems that every application needs to have an own virtual
directory, is this true? Or is it possible to just make 1 virtual directory
and put al the projects...

Hi everyone,
Apologies for the very silly question I am about to ask:
When I deploy an application, do I need to copy over the source code for the
aspx pages and their code behinds, as well as the dll's that are created
when compiling the site in Visual Studio?
Someone said something to me the other day which led me to believe that an
entire site consists only of the Dlls that are created when the site is

A client asked me to develop a site similar to http://www.luispachecorg.com
and I don't know how much I should charge for it. The site will have about 6
pages, and one of the pages will include a Search engine that will search for
houses in a DB that I will also create (similar to the Search under "Nuestras
propiedades" menu). Another page will include two calculators (similar to the
ones in...

Hi all,
I'm using Visual C# Express and Visual Web Developer Express. It just
occured to me, that there seems to be no way to develop a web service to be
consumed in VWD and use it in VC#, since the web service is run on a random
port etc.
Is this deliberate? An oversight? Any way around it? I develop on XP Home
(sorry, laptop came with it!) so I have no IIS to "deploy" the web service
to while developing, and I like being able to...

I have a php/mysql site and I am wondering if anyone has suggestions
about strategies for making it bilingual or resources on how to do
this. I thought of one way which would be to replace the text with
calls to a database which has all the text in it. But I would prefer to
have a single file with phrases and then just be able to translate that
single file into another language to produce a site in another
language.
Any ideas would be...

Hi there:
I'm a veteran to ASP.NET 1.1, but new to 2.0, and I'm using VS 2005. When I
run the app on my local machine, using the built-in Web server, I have no
problems, but deploying the site to a 2003 Server machine (which is also
running several 1.1 sites) throws a persistent 404.
I've looked around and found several references to the app_offline file, for
which I've searched exhaustively and found nothing. I'm essentially running...

I'm still stuck on the .dll and bin folder mentality in 1.1. When
deploying a 2.0 web application, there is no web .dll to deploy?
So is this how we deploy in 2.0?
1. Copy the app_code folder
2. Copy the bin directory containing any pre-compiled dlls
3. Move BOTH aspx AND aspx.vb files into the applicable directories
(is this correct?)
If so, we're just duplicating the file system from the development

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
