Hello friends... On a single asp.net web page i have a single server-side form that contains a couple of user-controls. Each user control has its own functionality and contains server-side textbox controls, requiredfieldvalidator controls which validate the textboxes, and a linkbutton control that postbacks the web page. The problem is, when the user clicks on the linkbutton control on one user control, the requiredfieldvalidator gets...

I wanted my "Terms and Conditions" Checkbox control to participate in my ASP.NET validation just like all the the other controls on the page. After some time of searching the web for an example of how to do this, I created the script to do it and thought I would share it. Its a littel messy but does the job. If anyone has a better solution, please let me know. //Client Site Event Handler to put in Page_Load event...

I have a form for entering a user's address and all fields have a required validating control associated with them and the error msg for each field displays right next to it. The normal behavior is that the error msg doesn't show unit the use hits the submit button or the user enters data and moves the focus to another control so the field becomes dirty. So far so good. Now when the user goes back to that control and starts to input data...

I setup some standard Required Field Validation controls and one Custom validation control on an ASP.NET page (within a user control) to validate text entry. I also setup a Summary Control to post all the messages to a message box (ShowMessageBox=true). The required field validation error messages show up in the summary just fine but I can't get the custom validation message to show up if invalid. So far I have the summary control...

I needed to provide client side validation for a web forms text box, radio button list, and drop down list. I asked two developers I work with what they thought I should do. One said Javascript, the other the Validation Controls. I chose the RequiredFieldValidator although I had done considerable work with Javascript in my ASP days. In 3-5 minutes I had two controls validated and working. It took me a little longer with the drop down...

Hi, I am trying to customize the asp.net validation to achieve the following: Upon submitting the form, client side validation will run, and it will stop at the first error detected. For example if both UserID and Password text fields are required but neither is filled in, I'd like to display the error message (a dialogbox) "Please enter the User ID". And only after the user has filled in UserID, it will display "Please enter the...

I have successfully created functionality that mostly models what I'm trying to do - which is dynamically insert controls into a user control (ascx), and insert validation controls, also dynamically, for some of the inserted controls. The controls (e.g., textBoxes) get created correctly and viewstate is maintained across postbacks, etc - BUT there is an issue with the validation controls. The validation controls, themselves are...

Recently, I was trying to modify an existing aspx page when client-side validation on that page stopped working. I searched this group and the web in general and found that other people have had the same issue. However, none of the suggested fixes solved my particular problem. I tracked down the cause of the problem, which is related to aspx page parser's handling of controls inside html comments. The problem may be quite common and well...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
