Hi,
I have implented my own Subscription based pushlet engine which is using a
servlet to write data back to a HttpServletResponse object.
This all appears to be working fine until I run it over our proxy.
It appears that the data being pushed is caching at the proxy and is not let
through for ages.
I need the update to be immediate which is now becoming a huge pain in the

In a nutshell - the question I'm asking is, how do I make a socket
conenction go via a proxy server ?
All our internet traffic has to go through a proxy-server at location
'dav-serv:8080' and I need to make a socket connection through it.
The reason (with code example) is as follows :
I am hacking "Tiny HTTP Proxy" by SUZUKI Hisao to make an http proxy
that modifies URLs. I haven't got very far - having started from zero
knowledge of...

Hi,
I have a program that runs on multiple client pc's. Occasionally one or more
of those pc's use VPN to connect to another corporate network. When using
VPN they need to set proxy server in Internet Explorer connection settings
(proxy:8080). However, as soon as this setting is enabled, the remoting
program running on their pc stops communicating with the server it sends
data to. I've disabled proxy setting on the affected pc, rebooted...

Hello All,
How do I completly and totally disable any kind of caching when making a
HttpWebRequest. I have an application which downloads a file from the
web. This file is updated on a daily basis.
However, my application keeps downloading the same file again and again.
When I open the same URL from my browser and hit the refresh button, I
see the new version of the file.

Hi there
For at project i need to build a Soap proxy with build in caching
functionality.
The reason is our backend system that we communicate with by Soap, does not
always answer (break down, update and more) and some of the queries takes a
LONG time (minutes) because the data is needed for our company website i
want to cache some of the non changing data in a proxy/cahing program.

We have written an asp.net app, which is apparently being cached by various
British ISP's, and this is recking havoc with our app, as the proxy servers
apparently are disregarding the session id within the URL (we work
cookieless), such as www.widgets.com/(asdiufya09r8)/mypage.aspx, and thus
can not identify to which user/session each page belongs.
We have tried all the textbook solutions, such as:
<%@ outputcache duration="1"...

We have an asp.net application and it is set not to cache on server,
client and proxy server.
It works great and web pages are not cached when you are not going
through proxy server but if you are going through proxy server it
caches the page to your local machine and then some pages stop working
because of that cached page.
Any suggestions on what can be done so that in the proxy enviroment it
doesn't cache on the local machine.

Hi all...
My app is a .net2 winforms app written in c# using visual studio 2005.
I have added a web reference to (what I consider) a fairly large web
service. When I try to use the web service in my client application via the
autogenerated proxy class, the first time I instanciate my proxy class, it
take almost 3 minutes for the call to complete. all subsequent calls are
instant. this delay is before any actual calls to the web methods.

I'm researching what is the best way to create a generic WCF proxy wrapper
that has the following requirements:
1. Remove the System.ServiceModel config section requirement for clients. We
have our own configuration management that follows our application lifecycle
(development/system test/production). Also, most of the proxies we build are
for the middle-tier layer.
2. Create a wrapper to follow WCF Client best practices (proxy.close...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
