ASP.NET/MySQL - Submitting Textbox Contents into a Database Through a Button Control?

2 New Member
I have a question concerning ASP.NET 2.0 and MySQL. I would like to enter text into several text boxes in a Web form, and submit the information to a database through a "Submit" button control. I tried doing this with SQL server, but the codes were too dissimilar. Does anyone know how I can do this with MySQL? Thanks in advance

I just realized that the code I inherited is using all asp.net server controls (ie. webform controls) and when I try to update textboxes on the client side, I lose the new value of the textbox when submitting the form to update the database. The server doesn't have the client side value any more. It seems to me that as I begin to write the client side javacript code for form validation and client side editing capabilities in order to save...

Totally hacked off here. I've written a user control that contains a text box, a required field validator and a button (these being the cornerstone of a search facility), all as ASP.Net server controls. The user clicks the button, and server-side code does a redirect to a search page, appending the search expression to the URL. Great, I thought, let's move on. I then wrote an mailing list page which included the aforementioned user...

Hi everyone, My question is related to making a form submit using javascript. Here is my scenario. I have a form, which includes a user control. The user control has a search button and a submit button. I have visably hidden th search button by setting its appearance and added an HTML button which calls the click event of my real server control button. This works fine.

You may be wondering why you would want to put your files “into” the database, rather than just onto the file-system. Well, most of the time, you wouldn’t. In situations where your PHP application needs to store entire files, the preferred method is to save the file onto the server’s file-system, and store the physical location of the file in your database. This is generally considered to be the easiest and fastest way to store files. ...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
